Starter motor fault fault code P305400
OBD fault code Starter motor has an intermittent fault. It is fine for weeks and then will not start. The fault clears somehow if the car if left or the DSG lever is moved or the fault code is cleared. The fault description is mechanical or electrical malfunction. If the motor does eventually start does this suggest an electrical fault, or not necessarily? I’m having the motor replaced this week or next but this may be only part of the problem. Any suggestions?

Error: workshop! Only leave in P position. Anyone fixed it themselves?
I also have this fault, Only leave in P position. However from some of the posts above and from other research it seems that the fault will not cause any issues other than becoming an annoying intermittent fault message. Is this correct? ( I had to turn off the stop /start and the stater motor is playing up, but I don’t think the faults are related). If I do attempt a repair I can only find replacements that require some modification to the housing as an official repair kit for the Fabia mark 3 does not exist.

Gear lever sensor faulty
Old thread, but I have recently got this message on an intermittent basis on my 2016 Octavia. Does it matter ie can you just ignore the message? Replacement sensors are available but I gather they are not easy to fit. Any experience? I don’t want to replace they whole unit.

The Mk3 Octavia TDI water pump thread
I went to a local garage and they confirmed the fault and replaced the water pump and timing belt for approx £650. They said it was a known fault for all VAG cars using that engine. I asked about a claim but they said as the timing chain needed replacing after 5 years and that they would always replace the water pump at the same time, there would be little point in claiming. Disappointing for such a good and reliable car.

The Mk3 Octavia TDI water pump thread
My Octavia 2.0 TDI, Nov 2016, 45,000 has been diagnosed with the water pump issue. Are Skoda/Skoda dealers still paying compensation or the car too old?
