    Hello, Newbie here with a Mk3 1.4 Tsi! I have been reading up all the useful info on this forum for the past few weeks, but I hope someone can help with a simple query? I already have a Whispbar (through bar) roof bar which was used on a Mondeo estate, and I just ordered a new fitting kit compatible for the MK3 Octavia hatchback. As the hatchback doesn't have any roof rails, I notice the fitting kit clamps around the roofline just above the door. Maybe I am showing my OCD side of my personality, but does anyone stick down protector clear tapes (e.g. 3M helicopter tapes) to protect the paintwork at the clamp contact points? Or I am fussing over nothing? Thanks Tom
