PCV valve diaphragm replacement
Hi, Looking at replacing the PCV valve diaphragm on the rocker/camshaft cover. Trying to find the correct part. Has anyone replaced this and can direct me to a supplier? There appears to be a few different rocker covers fitted with different positions for PCV valve and possibly size of the diaphragm is different. Any help much appreciated. On my engine the PCV valve is in the middle of the rocker cover directly in line with the hose to the turbo output/inlet manifold pipe, not to one side or flat on top of the rocker cover. Vehicle details:- Octavia mk11, 1.6TDI CR, CAYC. T

Unusual lighting fault
Update on unusual fault on lights. The fault was indeed as Langers2K highlighted, the 30A fuse position No.F16. Removed fuse box and wondered whether it was repairable rather than trying to source a good secondhand correct replacement or buying a new one. I am definitely of the mind to repair where possible. With the fuse box removed and all the fuses (inc the relay blank/bypass plate) and all fuse positioned noted/photographed, I pushed the steel anti-crush tube half way out of the fusebox. It was then possible to lift out the top half of the fusebox. The only thing stopping it from easily pulling out was that the overheated fuse holder had melted the plastic and partially bonded it to the fuse holder/connection. With the top half off it was simple case of cleaning the fuse contact surfaces with emery cloth and crimping them in slightly to increase the contact/grip on the fuse. It all went back together easily, refitted to motor with new 30A fuse and tested ok.

Unusual lighting fault
Hi, I have a strange intermittent fault on various lights. When the fault occurs this is the status of the various bulbs. Indicators - FNS OK - FOS not working - RNS not working - ROS OK Side & tail lights - FNS not woking - FOS OK - RNS 3 0f 4 bulbs OK - ROS 1 of 4 bulbs OK Dip beam - NS OK - OS not working Full beam - NS OK - OS not working Fog light - FNS OK - FOS not working Rear fog - Not working Brake lights - NS not working - OS OK - high led bank OK Reverse light - NS OK = OS not working. First thoughts, could be an earth issue, from experience on older vehicles earth fault can throw up some odd faults. But not sure why it would affect diagonally opposite indicators and a mix between O/S and N/S lights when there are various earth points around the vehicle. According to the Haynes manual - the wiring diagrams show the lights are controlled from the 'On-board power supply control unit' but I find no mention in the electrical section as to its location. However there is a section about the removal of ' Vehicle voltage control unit'. Are these two items one and the same? I really don't wish to access the Vehicle control unit unless absolutely necessary since to remove it requires stripping out most of the interior dash/centre console/steering wheel (unless I can just access the connectors and unplug/plug back in to see if fault clears with out a major strip down). Has anyone experienced similar faults? Thanks, Dave.

Various lights not working inc diagonal indicators
Hi, I have a strange intermittent fault on various lights. Indicators - FNS OK - FOS not working - RNS not working - ROS OK Side & tail lights - FNS not woking - FOS OK - RNS 3 0f 4 bulbs OK - ROS 1 of 4 bulbs OK Dip beam - NS OK - OS not working Full beam - NS OK - OS not working Fog light - FNS OK - FOS not working Rear fog - Neither working Brake lights - NS not working - OS OK - high level bank OK Reverse light - NS OK = OS not working. The fault first occurred Sat morning, but cleared on a drive out later the day. The fault then reoccurred on Sunday as is currently still there. A couple of other bits of info:- The 'bulb out' warning light on dash has intermittently been coming on but no bulbs failed. Tow bar fitted but via scotchblocks into rear loom. No problem with lights since purchasing car 8 moths ago. Anyone had anything similar?

Turbo oil leak after replacing oil filter housing/oil cooler
Hi, I had a water leak between the oil filter housing and engine block. So ordered up a new filter housing/oil cooler complete and replaced it today. Refilled engine oil and coolant as per Haynes manual ie after refilling with oil only running engine on idle/tick over. But now have an oil leak at the back of the engine I think from the turbo. In replacing the oil filter housing obviously didn't need to do any work at the rear of the engine where the turbo sits. Seems to much of a coincidence to have a turbo oil leak straight after fitting the oil filter housing. Have I done something wrong or was the turbo going to leak anyway? I used Castrol Edge 5W30 LL fully synthetic oil.

Coolant leak
Just ordered one on Ebay, should land Tuesday. Seals are shown in the images so I do hope they're included. Found an excellent 'how to' video with no time wasting, very quick and informative covering what needs to be removed, slackened etc.

Coolant leak
Indeed the prices range from £40 to - well think of a 3 digit number. I'm not sure with the age of my car I can warrant a 3 figure price tag :-)

Coolant leak
I thought the lower part of the housing was steel, but just given it a poke and scratch with a long drill bit and it appears it may well be plastic. Not easy to assess with the limited access and view. But I certainly only wish to do the job once. Thanks Tinbum.

Coolant leak
P.s Any tips, advice to gain access to remove the oil filter housing would also be much appreciated. It doesn't look all that accessible and wondering how much of the front of the car I'll need to strip down. ie any of the diesel lines, radiator, etc. Cheers.

Coolant leak
Hi, I have a coolant leak on my 1.6 TDI CR. Using an endoscope poked down the front of the engine I'm fairly confident that it is leaking from the gasket between the oil filter housing and engine block. It would be great if someone can confirm that there is in fact a water channel through this gasket. The gasket from which the coolant appears to be leaking from is item 6 in the attached diagram. Thanks in advance.

Hi
Recently purchased secondhand Octavia 2 Elegance 1.6 TDI CR. Came upon the forum via Google Search and found some useful info since. Decided time to join since I now have a few Q's to ask and in due course add my experiences and knowledge gained from owning, maintning and repairing my Octavia.
