Having recently purchased a new Superb with a panoramic sunroof, I was informed by Skoda that the Dog / Luggage Guard from my old Superb wouldn’t fit to the new car. After a bit of investigation I found that this was due to the holes in the roof rails used to fit the guard upper support posts were used to secure the sunroof and blind. ( I have not confirmed that the roof holes are not available by removing the headliner, but it seems logical looking at the liner shape)
Having discovered that the guard fitted using the normal lower securing points, I made up posts from the parcel shelf to the roof liner going through the dog guard to hold it in place.
The above method is very secure with no movement or rattling and the longitudinal guard provides additional support. There is no danger of the dog or luggage coming forward in the event of an accident as even it the post fails to hold, the lower legs would hit the seat backs.
