  1. My car is an automatic and I have noticed of late that the revs have started to spike particularly, but not exclusively, when on a downward gradient. Typically when going downhill I will remove my foot from the throttle to allow the car to coast but it will suddenly move from ‘D’ to another lower gear, the revs will spike by about 1K - 1.5K for a few seconds before dying down again. I would expect that as it has moved from ‘D’ to a lower gear then the revs would spike coupled with deceleration as would be the norm in a manual, but in my case there is no deceleration just a spike in the revs. I can only describe it as akin to keeping my foot on the throttle for a couple of seconds whilst I move the car into neutral. Coupled to this, when starting from cold the car revs quite high for about 10 seconds before dropping down to tick-over revs. Even when the car has been driven and thoroughly warmed then left for an hour or so in relatively warm temperatures it still revs high on the next start up but not quite so high or for so long. I would have thought the electronics would have managed this better. I have previously owned a VW Golf with the same type of auto gearbox but never suffered these issues with it. I am currently out of the UK and so the car is not being asked to perform in some of the excessively low temperatures being experienced in the UK at the moment. On a long run I am only getting about 44 mpg which I expected to be better and wondered if the excessive revving (engine fault?) is in any way responsible or is 44mpg par for the 1.5L petrol engine on a run?
  2. My 2022 Kodiaq is fitted with Adaptive Cruise Control which I find useful in certain conditions. What I find more useful is the ‘standard’ cruise control. My previous car (Jeep) gave me the option of selecting one or the other but I cannot find a way of selecting CC only on the Kodiaq. Is there a way of going this please as I have had the car for four months now and cannot resolve the issue. Many thanks
  3. Thanks Kenny, once again I am in your debt. Looks like this is going to be a difficult one to resolve. I spoke with the main dealer and was told that the camera function was not an option offered by Skoda for an unknown reason (I guess because it is against the law in certain EU countries).
  4. Thanks Kenny, I will have a look this evening.
  5. I have seen lots of discussion regarding uploading speed/traffic light cameras onto the navigation system. There are lots of references to memory cards and zip files etc. I have a 2022 Kodiaq and was advised by the dealer that the memory card slots on the 2022 models were being phased out so mine might not have one. I cannot find a memory card slot (I have been told if its there it will be in the glovebox) so, my question is, if I do not have the ability to use a memory card, how can I upgrade my Amundsen navigation system to include speed cameras/traffic light cameras? TIA
  6. Once again, thank you. Where do you get the screen shots from? My handbook is pretty basic and I am struggling with the QR versions as they fail to load correctly, hence all the questions.
  7. Thanks again Kenny. I think we might get to know one another well by the time I have asked my queries!!!
  8. My 2022 Kodiaq is fitted I am told, with an Amundsen infotainment system. I am trying to work out how I can create a 'favourite' location without an address. i.e. driving down a country road in the middle of nowhere and find a nice place for a picnic but no physical address to assign to the location. How do I enter that location into the Sat-nav system please? TIA
  9. I am new to this site and posted the following question in what might have been the wrong place so please excuse me if I am repeating myself!! Can anyone advise me please how I can set the alarm on my 2022 Kodiaq so that it does not activate when the dog is left inside? TIA.
  10. Hi Kenny, Thanks for your message. Just sent my first of what might be many queries!!!
  11. Hi, I am struggling with parts of the manual for my 2022 Kodiaq which hopefully someone can help me with please? Firstly how can I set the alarm system so it does not activate when I leave the dog in the car please? TIA.
  12. Hello, I am new to this site as a new owner of a Skoda Kodiaq, never before having owned a Skoda. Like all new cars it has its quirks that I need to get to the bottom of so if I ask for advice please bear with me as I am an owner of 'a certain age'!!! Many thanks,
