I'll be keeping a closer eye on the oil levels than I used to. I do check the oil but not every day. I'll be doing it more often now.

The car was driven 15 miles back to my place and all seemed ok. I checked the oil and it was showing about and ¾ on the dipstick. I'm thinking that is ok.

Yes but no I didn't check under the bonnet before I drove away. Should I need to? It was the seal with the oil fitter that hadn't seated correctly. All sorted now, fingers crossed. Nope, I refer you to my other to save typing them out again.

Nope. If it had appeared, I'd have dipped the clutch and killed the engine. All sorted. When the garage changed the oil fitter, the seal hadn't seated properly. Were they just careless?

Well, today has been an interesting day. Collected my, new to me, Scout and when I got home, about 14 miles, someone knocked on my front door to tell me there was a wet patch under the front of the car. Aaahhh. What the heck. OIL!! I cleaned and checked the dipstick and it was DRY!! Called the garage and it is getting taken back first thing tomorrow. Plus the Bolero panel has gone blank. Nothing at all. I'll do some digging.

And the winner was the older car, for the simple reason, the other one was sold before I could make my mind up. I just need to sell my 2014 Focus Zetec diesel, anyone interested? Thanks for all your input.

To be honest, I don't know. I think I'll end up chasing the ex NHS car just because it is newer. I like the 60 plate one but it's older than the car I'm selling. And it's much closer to home.

I honestly can't remember whether the doors had standard door cards in them. I have to assume they would. I've looked at other cars and keep coming back to the scout. The reason is that I do some work with Forestry England in Kielder Forest and my poor 2014 Focus doesn't have a huge amount of ground clearance. I've had to reattach the exhaust heat shields a couple of times. I looked at having the suspension raised but I don't like to modify the car and the insurance company weren't too impressed when I told them even though they cover me to compete in clubman status rallies. Haha. As I'm involved in rallying, I know exactly what is required, and my little old diesel Focus wouldn't really be the car for it, even if I wanted to, cage, extinguishers, etc.

Haha, I know what you mean. You don't need to elaborate. If I buy that one, it might get used hard but maybe not that hard as I'm always running late at times. 😉

No in answer to your question about body work holes. There is a missing grommet in the boot and the spare is sitting in the wheel well untethered. No jack or wheel brace. I gather it's had one haldex service.
