Hi there Just bought a cheap vRS SE as a project, and it is lacking a lot of power, previous owner had told me that it was mapped to Stage 1 running around 160-170bhp. However it doesn’t feel as though it’s ‘pulling like a train’. There is an air leak in a pipe leading into the intercooler, I’m not the most advanced when it comes down to the mechanics of cars, but I’ll attach a photo of it. When putting my foot down, you can hear the sucking/whistling noise when around 3000-3500revs. I’ve raised the car and had a look at the air leak in the pipe, I ended up finding a pipe similar to the pipe which is leaking on Facebook MarketPlace, could anyone let me know if this pipe would fit on the intercooler, I’ll also attach the listing of the pipe. The part number of the pipe is 1K0 145 790 C 1K0145790C Has anyone had this problem before on their vRS? I also have another forum topic on Briskoda under the name ‘2007 Fabia vRS SE #925’

Thanks for the reply @HeavyMetalRich I haven’t gotten around to check if the end of the pipe is damaged or not. However, I found a pipe on Facebook MarketPlace which looks very similar to my damaged one. I will attach it below, do you think once this is sealed I will regain back the power of the car. As I was told before the pipe burst, it was running supposedly 160ish bhp, now it feels as though its running around 90bhp. I did change the four glow plugs yesterday and it has definitely made the start up of the car better. Does anyone have any ideas on how it has lost it’s power? When putting my foot down, you can hear the sucking/whistling noise when around 3000-3500revs. The previous owner had told me that the leak could cause a cloud of black smoke from the exhaust, but I do not know if that’s because of the leak or just that’s its a diesel. Do you anyone know what pipe this is? And should I replace the whole Side mount intercooler or just the pipe? Thanks
