  1. In a average day the car does 20 miles for me that includes going to work, girlfriend picking the car up at lunchtime where she uses it until 4pm where she picks me up again. At night we either tend to go to the video shop or the shops.

Weekends tend to be the time we take the car for a wee blast.

This week for example the car has hardly been used due to christmas.

Can anyone else see something slightly wrong here?!!!!

  2. After reading through this thread I have come to the conclusion that I know diddly squat about how cars work and generally go on the consensus of others on what to buy, however there is controversy in the camp over this product!

I generally drive my vRS on the motorway for work and then a series of roundabouts getting into town, and some country lanes for some fun, have never taken it to a track (although keep toying with the idea) and so think that for saving £100 (which don't forget is still £100 which ever way you look at it) then the whiteline RARB is the way forward for me. The likes of Badger Bill and the other regular track users / good drivers then probably the Jabba is for them!

That's my two pennies thrown in, feel free to shout abuse at me!!!! :D

  3. Businessmen in rep cars on their commute in to work are great for this game cos they're always in a rush everywhere... Audi A4's, Ford Mondeo's, Golf GTI's (not the new one) and Ford Focus's have all been covered in the wonderful black stuff. How satisfying it is

Perhaps we should start a points system for cars that get "vRS'd" and maybe get some leaflets produced that we can throw out the window to land on their windscreen informing them they have just been vRS'd and that if they are wondering why their car is covered in black stuff then not to worry cos it's diesel power and can be bought at participating Skoda dealerships? :D

  4. I had the beeping added but got it taken off a few months after as it got right on my t**s! The anti hijack is good, especially if you drive in cities and the other half drives the car and likes to leave their handbag on the passenger seat- so many get nicked at traffic lights!

  5. Just a quickie...

Does it matter what year the Audi TT is that I am getting some 312mm discs, callipers, carriers and pads from?

Have got standard one's at the mo, but want to upgrade to the 312's.

    Cheers for the help

  6. Is the warning light supposed to warn that the temperature of te engine is too high, or does it indicate the coolant level is too low?quote]

    I've got no idea :(

Just in case there's any confusion, it's not the friendly "beep" you get when temperature outside reaches below 4degress, it's the angry "BEEP" simialr to when you're running low of fuelage!!

    Cheers

  7. People,

Stupidly last night I didn't put my car away in the garage and left it out, got out to it this morning at a very cold and dark 6am to head off to work and it was frozen solid :( Staretd the engine and started to de-ice the windows on outside, once I got back in to the car i noticed the red thermostat type temperature gauge light was flashing at me (looks like a thermometer with some red lines next to it on left hand side of dash) Thought this was just due to it being cold and so turned it off and turned on again (the old if in doubt reset the PC and it works again method!) and it didn't come back on again, HOORAH! However, am a bit concerned that something is going / has gone wrong with the engine?

This happened before when I was on holiday up in Scotland in January this year and we had some snow, just put that down to the super cold weather and it wasn't used to it?! Again turned it off and on again and the light and beep didn't come on!

Can someone put my mind at rest please as I am a complete doooshbag when it comes to mechanics!!

    Cheers,

    Hicksy

  8. Fitted my new bosch aero wipers today from WIPERBLADES.CO.UK : The UK's Premier Online Store (they gave me a very good service - emails to say the order was accepted, it's being processed and they've been shipped out!!!) About 5 minutes after I fitted them the clouds opened up and the rain came (think it's the first time I've wished for rain for a long long time!)

I must admit, the aero's are amazing, was cruising along the motorway this afternoon on route to ikea and they didn't smear or flap or make a noise at all, they worked brilliantly :D

Just wished I'd got them so much sooner, oh well, bring on the rainy winter :D

If you haven't got them already, go and order some now!!
