Hello all, Recently developed a problem with the front windscreen washer. (04 Octavia Mk1) My wife noticed the windscreen wipers stopped working so I identified a blown fuse, replaced it (20A fuse), and the windscreen wipers work fine.. until you try to squirt the windscreen washer. It works for about half a second (with liquid) before the fuse blows again. Any ideas on where to look first or any advice if this has happened to anyone before? Many thanks indeed!

Interesting, in that case I'll have a look at taking off the rear door card tomorrow to check it out and maybe do a makeshift fix.

Just to add I was also informed by the prior owner (family friend who moved abroad who owned the car for a short while) that the internal door membrane may be damaged although I can't see that producing the volume of water that's occurred here. I've been looking into sourcing a replacement for it but an actual genuine part seems to be hard to come by. If the door alignment itself doesn't fix the issue then I'll look further into getting the membrane replaced.

Hello everyone, first post on Briskoda. Bought a 2004 Octavia Mk1 a few months ago and whilst the car is mechanically sound, there is an issue with rainwater leaking into the car on the passenger side. After a heavy bout of rain it's a literal puddle. Thankfully the shop vac came in handy to suck most of it up. I looked through the forum and have already checked the sunroof (drains free running via testing with a Fairy bottle) and had a look near the pollen filter (no debris or damage to the grommet). Using the trusty watering can to try and establish the cause, it appears (hopefully) to be the rear passenger door. It looks like the door was taken off at some point (prior to me owning it) and it's not been tightened correctly. I've added some pictures below show what I mean, and the mildew/mold along the seal suggests water is getting in where it shouldn't. https://imgur.com/a/92Myzd0 How would I go about fixing the door so it aligns properly?
