  1. I have just changed my 2013 Superb for a newer 2022 model. My previous model had an SD card slot and I used it for storing MP 3 music. I created a Misic directory and created a sub directory for eack "album". This worked fine and I was able to select each album. I never manage to get the Shuffle play to work across all of the sub directories and so I created sub directory called "All Tracks" and copied into it all of the other tracks of all of the subdirectories (I had a 32gb SD card so space was no problem) - The new Superb has no SD card slot (not even for the sat nav maps - that will be another search on the forum to find out how to update the maps) but does have USB ports - USB type A under the arm rest and a type C in front of the gear change by the 12v socket. Both support data exchange as well as charging I tried putting the SD card into a USB stick adptor and that did not work. I tried everything - different, USB sticks, different formatting (FAT, FAT 32 etc,), different music formats (MP3, AAC, WAV), tracks in a "Music" folder, tracks not in a Music folder - None of which worked. I then spent over half anhour having an online Chat with Skoda. Whilst the guy did all he could to be helpful he eventually advised me to call Skoda on a UK number and ask them. At the this stage I was beginning to think I'd have to rely on my phone (I had already succeeded in playing music from my phone either via bluetooth or Smartlink.) But I now seem to have found the trick (there are a number of theads on this matter but I haven't found the solution in them) In checking my USB stick stock (some that I have acquired without checking the ontent) I found one stick (FAT formatted) that had a folder for each album (in MP3 format) direcly on the root directory (ie not as sub folder under a Music folder). Also in the root directory of the stick was a folder named "AUDIO". In an act of desperation I copied some MP3 tracks into the AUDIO Folder and tried the USB stick in the car Success at last. The tracks in the AUDIO folder appeared (but not the tracks in the other folders) on the infotainment system (not sure which one I have - The online manual - that you get by entering your VIN) that you have to use for the infotainment system does not give it a name Amundsen or Bolero) I have now got as far as trying to put MP3 tracks and Sub a folders of album tracks in the AUDIO folder and the infotainment seems to a display all tracks (including those in the sub folder) in one track list I've still some investigating to do but I can now certainly have all my tracks available permanently on the infotainment systm without having to rely on my phone
  2. Had the same problem on my 62 plate superb as orginally posted plus one of my rear windows would not open when the the key fob was used to open the windows. Miljan's solution (all windows lowered and raised using the driver's door window switches) cured both problems. Thanks
  3. I have a Superb Elegance 2.0/140bhp that is just 3 years old with 25k on the clock. Earlier this week I took it for its first MOT (at a Skoda workshop) and the tester said to me "Very nice car but you have a BSS engine which is prone to oil pump failure - the drive cog shears" - hence my studying this thread. I think he also mentioned a "D" shaped key shaped key between the cog and drive shaft that is the cause of the failure I see that rotodiesel mentions the the BHW engine code - so are I assume that there are at least two types of engine with the problem From this thread and other forums, it seems to me that that there can be 2 forms of failure - the one I have described above and the other concerning whether it is a chain drive on the cog or a geared coupling. Can anyone shed any light on this and if so, which engine codes have have which potential problems
  4. I am wondering if there are different types of Factory fitted Xenon headlights - I know that my son who has an earlier model Passat with different type of Xenons (and adjustment method) fitted I have attached pictures of the LHS of my 2007 Superb (where the lever can be seen clearly) and the RHS (where no lever can be seen) I gave up trying to take a picture of the RHS lever because of limited space - but I'll have another go when I do the adjustment for real in a couple of weeks
  5. Having studied all of the comments I have just spent the afternoon (a man of leisure!!) familiarising myself with this in preperation for my drive to Germany in a couple weeks I have a 2007 Superb Elegance 2.0 Diesel with original Bi Xenons I followed Rotodiesel's method and have the following comments The nearside (LHS) was just as described - I did take off the cover on the PAS reservoir as it is such a simple job (feel underneath the reservoir to spread the clips of the cover securing it in posion) and provides a bit more space. I found that I did not need a bent screw driver to rotate the lever (anticlockwise when looking at it through the opening, the top end of the lever going in a downward direction) - a straight one was OK For the RHS, I could not see the same type of lever - so I assumed that it must be on the "other side" of the bulb housing. The only way I could see of getting to it without removing the headlight (and therefore the bumper as well - re Baker21's comments) was to remove the cover of the dipped beam bulb. To achieve this I had to remove the heat shield screws (two top ones) of the air filter and the single bolt holding the air filter in place. This allowed me to lift the airfilter housing slightly in order to remove the dipped beam cover cap I could then see the lever on the "other side". Moving it up and down was achieved with a long (about 10 inches) thin screw driver - a bit fiddly but not a big deal. However , I did find that I had to rotate it in the same direction as the LHS one (ie imagine that you could see it through the undippped beam opening, it was rotating clockwise - the top end of the lever moving in a downward direction) - the original description stated that the moved in different directions. I have had the car from virtually new and cannot believe that they have been moved previously I am assuming I have found the correct levers!!!! - I can't imagine there is more than 1 each side. The only other comment I have is to watch that you do not drop any screws - they will end up on the underneath sump guard tray which (unless you are lucky enough to slip your hand into a gap and find it by feel - as I was)) will then have to be removed to recover them Having sussed it out I believe that it is now a 10 minute job I look forward to reading your comments about the differences I found - thanks to all
