Sudden loss/blip in power.
When we first got the car (as an ex demonstrator) and for the first 4 ish years we would always go to the shell garage as someone once said their fuel was ‘better’. a few years ago we changed our mind and started using Asda cheapest 8 months ago we (kind of) accidentally almost run out of fuel (3 miles till empty) as the problem is looking like a fuel issue I wonder if I’ve saved a pound just to spend 100’s £130 is not too bad when an electric equivalent to out car is £56k! (And we have already spent a fair bit recently too) I might get a horse instead

Sudden loss/blip in power.
Morning we are back home in a couple of days and have the pleasure of our car again! just before we left, while I was in Asda, I purchased a bottle of diesel injector cleaner (£4.49) and poured that in since then we have not had the problem. It could be luck, timing or just the fact we’ve not driven it much lets see what your report says thanks Graham

Hello Captain I thought I had put the same question on another forum (to widen my search for answers) but it turns out it’s just a different ‘category’ on Briskoda! However that said I’ve had a few suggestions. one person has suggested changing the fuel and air filters. They say these can have a significant effect on performance but are easy to change and don’t cost £100’s another suggestion is replacing the battery. Looking at some videos on line, It looks possible that a bad battery could cause our issues. a couple of years ago Kwick-Fit said we needed a new battery but we hadn’t noticed any problems and just thought they were ‘up-selling’. Supposedly a battery can be bad but still have the power to start and run your car. im not sure I want to start taking things apart before our ride to the airport so I’ll try and research some more and then get busy when we get back good lunch at your end Luck not lunch….

Hi Cheeze i was just watching videos on how to change the filters, looks easy enough A couple of years ago ‘Knick fit’ said we needed a new battery but we hadn’t noticed anything off and just thought they were ‘up selling’? I’ll give these suggestions a go. thanks

Sudden loss/blip in power.
Hi Captain I'll see if I can find the error codes that were showing and the part info for the replacements. We're off on holiday on Friday so fingers crossed we make it through the week and get to the airport.... I'll do my best to forget about it till we get back then I think I'll take it to the independent VW man around the corner and see what he says. We're at the point of thinking if we should fix it, bin it, burn it or trade it in? Let me know how you get on or if you find a crystal ball

Octavia Scout 64 running rough
Hello all this is my first post so apologies in advance for all the mistakes I’m about to make i have a 2014 Octavia scout and it’s been starting to play up it began with a dodgy idle, as if it was really cold or running low on fuel, but once we got moving we forgot about it and things were normal for a couple of weeks the car was due a service so we thought it was just that. When the car went into the garage we mentioned it and it came back with a fault code ( I can remember the code, I might have it written down somewhere). The fault was identified as a fuel pressure sensor and something else but related to fuel. the part was expensive so we thought we’d wait a little. Then the ‘juddering’ started. It felt like we were in too higher gear and the engine wanted to die but this was only at slow speeds and when we were in traffic. When we were on the motorway the car was solid and pulled well. And we got this replaced and after a couple of days the juddering returned (I don’t think it Weber really went away) so we went back to the garage this time it came back with a fault code relating to the ‘exhaust flap actuator’. we have just got this replaced (today) at a main dealer and the same fault is there. Annoyingly it’s intermittent, rarely rough on idle but more often under 30mph it’s like we are In too higher gear, there is a drop in power then a surge. I took the car back to the first (local) garage and there are no fault codes present the garage is next to ASDA so I got a bottle of diesel injector cleaner (£4.50) and poured that in, as yet no difference…. please help then it st
