  1. 🤣 the PD130 was such a gem and well deserving of its reputation!! It blew the 1.6hdi 206 I owned prior to that out of the water and not a single DPF issue to contend with (unlike the Peugeot!)
  2. Thank you both for your speedy replies! I have continued to read into this with your prompts and will be ruling this engine version out now. I've been a bit unlucky with cars in the past (even though I'm meticulous when it comes to maintenance) and by the sounds of this it's more sinister than a "roll of the dice" situation! Is the 1.4tsi the best of the petrol engines then? And is this the best of a bad bunch, or has it generally proven to be a reliable engine? I'm really keen on the Yeti and think it'll fit into our lives well. We've ruled out diesels as will be doing predominantly short trips. Thanks again for your help.
  3. I am interested in following the responses here too. Looking at a Yeti with the same engine iteration! Part of me really hopes that the horror stories are more common because the engine is more common. Bad ones still being a small minority. What did you end up doing?

Good evening! I'm hoping to be a Skoda owner very soon! I have browsed this forum before and it's a great community that I'm looking forward to being part of. I've had a couple VAG cars before. An Ibiza Cupra 1.8t and Ibiza FR PD130. Both great in their own right. The PD130 blew me away to be honest, very powerful yet to frugal. I wish I'd held onto that longer! Now looking to venture into Yeti ownership. Will pop up in that subsection to say hi, and to read through the topics! Thanks for having me all! Adam
