  1. I have noticed my android auto plays up sometimes under cloudy conditions but not done it for a while. If there is still an issue with these comms it's a joke. How can they still sell these cars knowing there's a problem. Mines a 19 plate and most journeys I still get the SOS call activated. Infotainment locks up occasionally, can't even adjust the climate control.
  2. Looking at the instructions again (properly) I can see there are no stretch bolts 🤣. I must have been thinking about the rears. My bad. Managed to get the rear disc off without removing the big bolts.

Hi, does anyone know what stretch bolts I'd need to replace the front discs & pads on a Scala 1.0? The manual says replace but I can't find the info on which to get. I've read elsewhere that some people re use them?
  4. Quick update. Balls in Skoda's court. Said I wasn't happy with the £200. See what they say. Where is the canister and valve? Is it an easy change? I’ll try anything once.
  5. I have no evidence of the fault other than I knew it was there when I took it in. I've had the dealer on the phone earlier who said they've spoke to Skoda & they've both agreed to fit the new OCU module at a cost to me of £180 ish. Good result you might think but still paying nearly £200 for a faulty component that should have been done under warranty still erks me. I said I'd get back to them. I might wait for Skoda to get back to me if they ever do. With regards to the EVAP. If you over fill your car once you damage the EVAP canister & sensor?
  6. Thanks for your reply. It just seems they've purposely not done the recall in december to me. I'll have to be honest I wouldn't want to pay for any of it. Two months out of warranty & the faulty part is related to a known fault on many cars not just the Scala or Skoda brand. I could understand if they'd have said the turbo had gone or the battery is faulty but to say the recalled part is faulty just doesn't sit right. The invoice from december doesn't say anything about the recall. Why lie to me and say the technician is doing it, then say it's done? That's why they haven't put it in writing. No proof from my side then. Re the evap, yes I have overfilled. 🤚Hold my hands up to that one. The guy said this needs replacing because it's probably filled up with rubbish from the fuel & is clogged up. I did search the fault when it came up on the dash, I have a cheap reader & a search on here revealed over filling. I lost my faith in dealers a long time ago when I bought my first new car. Backwards & forwards with issues, being fobbed off, lied to. Do you think the ombudsman would be worth a try if they reject my complaint?
  7. Hi, I don't normally vent on forums but I thought I'd share my recent experience. I had the same symptom, SOS Call Activated on dash then goes off. Aldo had Stop Start error Scala SE L 19 plate was booked in for service & recall (SOS fault) in December. All done, left the dealer thinking great. It was the last visit to the dealer before the warranty ran out. Guess what, January engine management light comes on. Again thought great! Got a call mid Feb from dealer, 'Mr R the part for your car's recall is in now can you book it in please'. Thought it was a bit strange but booked it in for yesterday. Asked to check EML while they had it in to see what was going on. Waited a couple of hours the service advisor comes up to me. 'Good job your sitting down, couple of issues. OCU module is faulty & needs replacing & an EVAP canister'. OK how much? '£1700'. WTF? Your telling me the same part that I've brought in for reapir is faulty? This is the reason why dealers & manufacturers get such a bad rap. I bring my car in for a recall in December when the warranty is still valid, get told it's been done. Then by chance 6 weeks after the warranty runs out, oh call Mr R tell him the part is here then we'll update the OCU software and tell him it's faulty & needs replacing to the tune of £1100. He won't have a leg to stand on with Skoda because he bought it from a non dealer with no service history before bringing it here. Aplogies about the rant but I'm so angry. What do you think my chances are of getting it replaced under warranty? Slim. I've emailed Skoda & the guy at the dealership is ringing them but my guess is he doesn't. I could be proved wrong but doubt it.
