  1. Greetings all, On my 2015 Octavia VRS diesel hatchback, my infotainment system has a frustrating, intermitant issue. At the moment, it only happenes some mornings, but not every morning. It does not appear to be temperature sensitive. Ordinarily, I have it programmed to the radio in the morning. On start up, or say 200m down the road, the infotainment decideds to change station, dab to fm and various other functions but it is radio based. After about 30 seconds of dancing around between various options, settles on a station that I do not want to listen to (Grrrrr). It beeps as if the screen is pressed whiekl going through different stations. I can't even change the radio station from the steering wheel controls. If I turn the ignition on and it is on something else (such as car or phone), it also does the same dancing around, through theose menus. During the dancing around time, I cannot use the screen. After that dancing around, I cannot use the screen for several minutes. Turning off the ignition and/or radio and back on, is fruitless. Could anyone direct me as to things that I need to look at, check or do please. Looking forward to some wisdom, with much appreciation in advance. Many Thanks. Happy Driver
  2. I have a set of Thule roof bars and feet for sale This fits the mk1 superb. They are the Thule Square Bar 761 in Black. Model number 712200 The feet are the Thule Rapid System 754. The feet have the additional lock included (key supplied). Model number 754002 I have no need for them now, hence they are for sale. Good condition as can be seen from the photo's. Collection Only from Nottingham. DM me if you are interested
  3. Due to a change in car and a clear out of the garage, if anyone wants Thule roof bars and feet with locks for their Superb mk1, DM me with a reasonable offer.
  4. What a great comprehensive reply - Thank you. I suspect that I will remove the 'old' reflector and take a good look at it, and then have a look at the bumper and where it is meant to clip into the bumper. I should always be able to pop it back on. If it still bows out, as you say, some plastic welding may be appropriate. Indeed why? I suspect that someone may have nudged the rear bumper in a car park. There is the lightest of scratches (which should polish out) almost dead centre on the bumper indicating a bump, and that is why it could have popped out. Certainly a third party bump in this case! When I get a spare moment, I will have a good look. Thank you again for your reply - very much appreciated!
  5. Many Thanks for that. I will have a good look in the next few days, when time allows.
  6. Hi All, Pre-lock down, I bought my 3rd Skoda, 2nd Octava vRS, 1st mk3. This time a hatchback. All good with it, apart from the rear centre reflector on the bumper. It is bowing out and does not want to stay correctly in place (see Photo's). I have therefore have a few questions that I hope you clever and helpful people can answer: 1. Is this centre reflector held in with clips which are attached to the bump? 1a. if so, I need to get those clips but will need a part number. 2. or are the clips in fact on the reflector and it is time to get a new reflector as that will stop it bowing out? 2a. In which case I will need to get a new rear centre reflector. I have attached photo's to show the situation. I look forward to hearing from you. Many Thanks in advance. Happy Driver
  7. Greetings all, Just a quick 2 questions. Could anyone provide me with the dimensions of the alloys that I require for my 2012 VRS Octavia derv please? With autumn starting to make its presence felt, and the first snow surely to arrive before not too long, I will be in need of purchasing the winter tyres and I need a set of rims for the tyres to go on - hence the question. Currently on 18", but would not mind going to 17" or 16". Would The Octavia scout wheels fit? Your answers are greatly appreciated. Many Thanks Happy Driver
  8. Greetings all, Well it was a sad moment, I sold my trusty superb, an 03 1.9 tdi elegance with 153,000 miles on the clock. bought nearly 7 years ago with 72,000 miles on the clock. Sold on autotrader in less than 24 hours. So less of the old, and more of the new. Replaced by an octavia estate, vrs cr tdi 62 plate with only 4,000m on the clock and just 6 months old. Query is this, I have seen advertised the ipod connection cable, linking the ipod to the car, through the aux connection. Genuine part and I understand that main dealer would like £35 of your hard earned golden nuggets for it. However is this cable as good as it appears to be. Does it charge the ipod as well? I can pick them up for a lot less (e.g. amazon), genuine package etc, hence the question. Has any experience of using this? Happy Driver
  9. Tick-tock-tick-tock-Tick-tock-tick-tock-Tick-tock-tick-tock-Tick-tock-tick-tock-Tick-tock-tick-tock-Tick-tock-tick-tock as I drive along. ...and this is before I indicate left or right or press the emergency flashers! Yes you have guessed it - the indicator relay is failing and I need to replace it. But where is it and how do I get to it? It sounds as if, it is behind the emergency flasher button / air vents area, but I am unsure. Could someone please tell me how to find it and repalce it please? Thanking you kindly in advance. Happy Driver oh, and if you need to know: Skoda Superb 1.9tdi pd 130bhp 03/03 (Mystery Blue - but I guess the colour will not make a difference)
  10. Yep, all batteries in the remotes have been changed. Even the red light next to the buttons in the remote control with the key comes on when you press the button.
  11. Just tried that. I had the +'ive of the battery disconnected for 15 minutes and no luck. What a pain.
  12. "it will be the remote lock/unlock blob that Skoda are offering " Okay, so this 'blob', it is not receiving the same signal that my transmitter is sending out to the car - hence it does not lock and unlock. As one key failed originally and then the second key much later, I think each key transmitter has failed (but the transponder has not). Do I have to get 2 new key transmitters and a new 'blob', or just a new 'blob'? But then how do I get it all programmed to talk to each other? Shark90, your website has interested me, but I cannot see any performance upgrades available for the Superb...
  13. I have to use my key to unlock the car before I can open the door. So what is the problem with that someone will ask. Well, I use to open it by pressing the button on the key remote and the car doors would unlock. This has now failed on both sets of keys. I have tried various re-programming suggestions based on the Octavia and Fabia suggestion. However, no luck with that. So without heading down to the local dealer and parting with my hard earned cash. (£130inc VAT for 2 new transponders at £40 each & 30 minutes labour), is there anything I else can do or check? I do intend to keep this car for another 4-5 years. Your advices would all be very much appreciated. Thanking you all in advance Happy Driver
  14. Those links are fantastic Gizmo. Thank you very much. Looks as if I have some homework to do and then I will have a look at the classified and breakers yards. Wheels are clearly a science, rather than an art! Many Thanks to all who have contributed. I will do the homework and look into the problem of my key transponder not working... ... I feel another post coming on. Happy Driver
  15. Okay, I remember when I had a Land Rover and changed from 205 R16 to 225 75 R16, the circumfrance was slightly greater, but near enought the same. If I go for the 16" wheels, what size tyre do I need to match the 225 45 R17's that I have at the moment? I need to make sure that the speedo does not over read any more as it is nearly at its 10% limit at the moment. Can any Audi wheels fit? Many Thanks to all the comments and assistance so far. It is very much appreciated.
