  1. That sounds like a total nightmare, @Edela! Thanks for sharing.
  2. Three months since the issue started and nearly two months since I went into the garage, I’m still waiting for a new media control unit (last I heard with no ETA). Would be interested to know how long it’s taken others to get theirs replaced? I’m long over being sick of having to go without a good chunk of the comfort, safety and convenience features I’ve paid for! 😔
  3. @matrix2020 The simple answer is probably yes. I couldn’t say for sure I always get the parking distance control warning light first but this is what I see when the system starts it’s rebooting loop in my case.
  4. Like you say, @pe2dave, reception probably isn’t the issue. I think you should be able to confirm, as with OTA updates, by checking what colour the SOS module in the car is showing: ”…Online vehicle – when your vehicle is running, make sure the light of the SOS module in your overhead console is green. If it is, this means your vehicle is “online” and able to communicate with Škoda servers.” - https://www.skoda.co.uk/owners/software-update
  5. I’ve had a similar experience with my Octavia IV when parking and charging in underground car parks, where there isn’t sufficient reception for the car to report it’s charge status to the app. I guess, depending on where your charger is located, perhaps you could have a similar issue? If not and you’re still under warranty I’d definitely recommend checking with the dealer, as that should definitely work!
  6. *head-unit I mean! 🤦‍♂️
  7. Initially I wondered if something like that might be my issue too, @micko83 but disconnecting all my USB devices and doing a factory reset of the headset made no difference. How often does it reboot when you’ve had the issue? For me it’s a continuous reboot, every 3-5mins and then after 3-4 reboots it just crashes out entirely and I’m stuck with a black screen on the touch screen until I force a reset via holding down the power button for several seconds. In my case, I’ve found nothing makes any difference. Maybe there can be a few different things which can cause this behaviour?
  8. To update on my issue: Finally had the car into the garage today. As with @R0Mario I’ve been told that the media control unit also needs replacing on mine. So that’s now on back order with no clear ETA. To be fair to the garage though they agreed Skoda corporate really need to pull their finger out on these sorts of issues.
  9. It looks like my Octavia has just started doing this. I've contated the garrage to book the car in but the earliest slot is three weeks away, so I've picked up an OBDeleven to see if I can figure out what is going on in the meantime. Does anyone know if there are any specific codes I should be looking for? This is a super annoying issue because when the ICE reboots it kills a bunch of the other driver assists. 😫
  10. Hello all, I'm the owner of a 2022 Skoda Octavia IV. I came across the site lots of times while researching and purchasing my car and now after 6 months or so of ownership I thought it was finally time to join the community! 😀 My family has always owned VW group cars and I'm no exception having owned VWs (Golf, Lupo, Bora and Passat) before purchasing my Octavia. The Octavia is my first new car, having previously only bought used. However, my Octavia is not the first new Octavia in our family. Back in 2002 my family were the proud owners of a 1.8T 4X4 Skoda Octavia estate (picture attached). It was the ultimate wolf in sheeps clothing of it's day and it was memories of the fun times we had in this car which got me thinking about giving Skoda another try. So back in the middle of 2021 I went down to West End Skoda in Edinburgh and put my name down for a brand new Octavia IV Estate. (...Shout out to George who also sold us the 1.8T back in 2002!) And after a very long wait, I finally took ownership of the car in Sept 2022. Since then I've really enjoyed getting back into Skoda's and have joined the Skoda Owners Club GB. I have also been able to put the new car to good use towing my classic Citroen 2CV to for restoration work. I look forward to meeting you all and helping contribute to the forum! Cheers, Callum
