My car was built in week 22 (week commencing 29th May). The dealer said to expect delivery late late July. It arrived in the dealership on 28 June and i collected it on 30th June. From the build date to collection for me was around 4 weeks. I think i was lucky as i ordered the car on 24th May which meant from order to collection was only 12 weeks! (Vrs estate tsi dsg with a few extras.)

I can understand your frustration in the waiting time and hope you enjoy your new car. I collected my new vrs a few weeks ago and so far it has been faultless so fingers crossed it continues that way

I did it my self so Just the cost of the autoglym ceramic spray. It’s not like a full ceramic coating but i find it gives good protection and lasts a couple of months for added protection

Thanks for your very helpful reply. Much appreciated. He did say the issue affected certain models, but not all. The dealer is not aware of replacement covers yet being rolled out in UK. No criticism aimed at the dealer (Marshalls in Barnstaple) who i have had a very good buying experience from.

Picked the car up and all good. I have noticed there is no engine cover. Dealer has said that a recall dated 22 March 2022 all engine covers had to be removed on vrs. Am i right in thinking that there now a revised cover that can/should be fitted? Seems crazy to have an open exposed engine? If so is there anything i can point the dealer too? Many thanks

I think i must be very lucky. I ordered a VRS TSI DSG Estate in special order Velvet red on 24.3.23 and was quoted a delivery time of 10-14 weeks. Just had a call from Marshalls in Barnstaple to say that car arrives with them tomorrow and i am collecting it on Friday!! Tim Hart at the dealership has been excellent in keeping me informed - 14 weeks from order to collection. I will post a picture on Friday. Happy and lucky i think.
