Does the 1.5 TSI Have Rear Disc Brakes?
I gave very valid reason for opting for rear discs option (£100). Neither fashion nor ego had anything to do with it. Based solely on my previous, and present, experiences of ****ty drum/shoe setup on previous and present VW cars. Life too short to spend several hours twice a year removing the drums and cleaning all the **** out.

Does the 1.5 TSI Have Rear Disc Brakes?
Just got a set of these delivered. Never knew they existed until saw mentioned here, been using a screwdriver, the one you get in car toolkit that handle slides off. Anyway, what a piece of kit this is, very heavy weighs almost 1Kg. Will be useful for several family cars. I managed to get it for just over 7 quid, not sure why as it immediately went up in price to over 30 quid after I bought it. I will be keeping on eye on this item on Amazon, as another set would be a useful spare when I no doubt forget where I have located this one in my garage. Getting old comes with no advantages other than a free bus pass. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09Q8F2L23?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

Maybe I am missing something, but I just shove a screwdriver or something similar into the hole. Possibly showing my age again.

wireless car play
My wife has just picked up her new Suzuki Swift Mild Hybrid. Comes with wireless Apple Carplay, along with a reversing camera, neither came with my Skoda, and every gadget that my Monte Carlo has, and more. Averaged 70 MPG over 40 mile journey home. Also saved 20% off list price using Blue Light Card. Anyway, Just saying, and not knocking my Fabia. Just amazed at value available from Suzuki, a well established manufacturer, and my favourite motorcycle manufacturer.

I bought two from Amazon, but seem to be out of stock just now. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BX68HFYG?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details I also bought one from eBay very similar to this one, but cannot guarantee it will work as different seller. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/387086549197? itmmeta=01J17ZXAVFRFA4WGKZAWQ8HRMZ&hash=item5a202800cd:g:3uIAAOSwn2tmbMAY&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA8PmF6K61AqKNpl%2BiyA3ktGXA0T5dGGaSIBksjr0YU6XpXI9zxMLkIkVVvvz7xhwL4oXM4EHSYVj08rGZMxI82drqhviBu0aQVqzcIB26iUvx2pGL3BTWDPijE%2FjCUiDbKa4Vz8GPVLNzCSRCaB9W3Cs%2FEhflx8BMKR7HSE0EVe%2FLTCN6dApuI%2FCFICSnnLnBoevNU5t%2ByaioyRUCzGBGmjv0NexG5OzTFLSqIUaaX9dQ39s--fujrvnaoFl4ZB72TUABnyx2Y1xu2dGIYHVJF4iDgHxyw5iPbLw7HFdWfsDZI7yfugBshmEP3X9RtNFeWw%3D%3D|tkp%3ABFBM6q31_4lk

Was it a Carlinkit 5 you bought? I had trouble with Carlinkit system also, but just using cheap generic one I have no problem. We have three in different cars, one working with the Fabia factory fitted head unit, and two working with Pioneer and Sony aftermarket head units.

wireless car play
I asked a couple of Skoda dealers this very question, the first had no idea what I was talking about and second insisted it was not possible. I would very much doubt it is. Anyway, I purchased a discreet wee unit that plugs into one of the USB slots and my phone connects automatically very quickly.

Yep, Skoda supplied, paid for by me at time of order, is 185/65R15. My car has 215/45R17 fitted.

Doubt if the spare will have a TPMS sensor fitted.

Does the 1.5 TSI Have Rear Disc Brakes?
It is actually a 185/65R15. I will check later for speed restriction marking, but not sure why it would need it as it a 185/65 R15 88H Nexen Nblue HD Plus, H rated to 130MPH and has same rolling circumferance as my 17" wheel. Maybe I am showing my ignorance of these matters! Edit. No extra packing, what you can see other than factory installed packing pieces, the grey squares, is a couple of plastic bags to accommodate the removed wheel should I get a puncture. Sods law it would happen when the wheel was manky with dirt, also keeking in at the left side is a rubber floor mat should I ever need to give someone a lift who has manky feet. Haha. I really am quite obsessive about keeping my cars in immaculate condition.

Basically same diameter as my 215/45x17" OE Monte carlo wheels/tyres. Don't understand the two listed options, as I dont see the need for any different wheel/tyre combination than the one I have in my boot as it should fit any model of fabia. https://tiresize.com/comparison/

- Just incase anyone's after a rear wiper blade...
Thanks for that, But I am really concerned that these mounts are much weaker. Anyway, first world problem!- Just incase anyone's after a rear wiper blade...
Thanks, look exactly same as mine. Just the plastic is much thinner and more brittle looking compared to previous sets I have purchased. Hopefully they survive the next winter frost/snow without breaking!- Just incase anyone's after a rear wiper blade...
The Amazon set I received were made in Belgium. But, I must comment on the construction of the mounting point, very cheap plastic compared to my previous experience, and much less substantial than the OP blades. Potential issue, as look like could easily snap if hitting much resistance, such as in winter. Maybe getting a bit more pedantic in my older years, but I do tend to check things like this now. Have had a wiper mount snap in the past, and when the metal arm makes contact with the windscreen there is only one winner. Knackered windscreen covered in deep scratches. Any thoughts from anyone who has recently purchased Bosch wipers? Edit. Just checked the Bosch ones on my wife's VW UP and our Corsa. Boy what a difference in the gauge of plastic on mounting bracket. Makes me think the Amazon set I got are fakes. Don't plan on fitting them, will be returning them. Would be good if anyone has any images of the mounting point on their Bosch wipers.- Just incase anyone's after a rear wiper blade...
I bought my front set A864S on Amazon a few days ago for £19.99, now up to £21.62. Prices do fluctuate quite a bit. Could have them for a quid or two less on eBay, but i wanted them fitted asap due to **** poor weather, and OE ones were really annoying me with the noise they were making. Car has only done 1,000 miles!- Does the 1.5 TSI Have Rear Disc Brakes?
Ootohere with regards to your comment: They know over the years what is needed and bigger or disks on the rear might be more important for style / looks other than function, the cars stop at UK speed limits on road. I repeat an earlier comment I made about rear drums, particularly on VAG vehicles. Having owned possibly some 30 odd cars over the years, and regularly serviced several family members cars over these years, I was only too happy to pay £100 to avoid rear drums/shoes. They can be an absolute nightmare in wet weather, particularly in the winter. My wife's VW UP is the worst ever, common talking point on VW UP forums. Have on numerous occasions had to remove and stripdown/clean them as they became seized solid. I now do it every Autumn and then again pre- MOT time in March, total pain in the ar.e. Any car I have owned with discs and pads on rear has been totally maintenace free.- Just incase anyone's after a rear wiper blade...
Just to add a comment, the OE wipers are very poor quality. Screeching across windscreen, as did my wife's VW UP, and a previous Seat Mii. All now changed to Bosch wipers.- Has anyone disabled start/stop on their mk4?
No, country lanes where I live are 60 limits,. It is almost impossible to drive without moving side to side to avoid potholes and cow **** and silage. Edit. Sorry, just noticed Ootohere was responding to john1952.- Has anyone disabled start/stop on their mk4?
I also occasionally turn off the lane assist when driving around our country lanes loaded with potholes. Like it on motorway journeys, as long as indicator is used it never cuts in when overtaking and returning to inside lane. But have felt it kicking in when I have slightly wandered occasionally. It needs fine tuning though, as certainly not perfect. Edit. I am pretty sure this is standard on all newish cars and I reckon all BMW, Audi and Volvo drivers have it permamnently disabled, as indicator use is alien to most of them. Haha.- Aero covers removed
Yep, canny beat a bike. I had my first in 1973 when I stayed in Bromsgrove as a 16 year old. Garelli TigerCross moped, did 58MPH on way to Worcester. Happy memories, enjoyed my time south of the border, but now back hame in Bonny Scotland.- Aero covers removed
Yep, I actually prefer to drive my wife's 2017 VW UP, and two old Corsa D cars, both over 10 years old, and my motorbike. I am not sure why I bought the Skoda, other than I retired and thought I would buy a new car. I am 67 and have owned dozens of cars, but this is the most boring car ever. Just my opinion, I am sure loads of you are very happy with your car. My favourite cars were my several Mk2 Gti Golfs. Wish I had kept at least one of them. Anyway, i am going way off topic. - Just incase anyone's after a rear wiper blade...
