  1. As with any Dealership, anywhere in the Country, if you've had a bad experience then you, generally, won't go back. I can only speak about the experiences I have had using Furrows Oswestry, and, on each occasion, they have been excellent. I've had 2 services under the Skoda all-in-one scheme and I've ordered a few parts from them - never had anything but great service and he staff have always been helpful and polite.
  2. You're right - I'll avoid the dealers with this issue. I have the 'All-in-one' service plan - hence my 1st visit to the dealers last month - but they never mentioned the Haldex service to me, even though I asked them to let me know everything that needs doing on the vehicle. This is my 1st 4x4 and I had no idea what about the Haldex until I read about it here! I don't think the Haldex service is covered by the service plan so I'll contact a local garage that I've used loads previously and ask them to change the oil and replace the filter. Thanks for your advice.
  3. Back on the phone tomorrow then !!
  4. Skoda have just confirmed that I don't need the Haldex servicing because I have a petrol - only required on diesel. I've learnt something new today then!
  5. I can't see that the Haldex has been serviced - I'll contact the Dealer and ask them to check.
  6. Whilst new to me, the car has just turned 4 years old with 16000 on the clock. It's a 1.5 petrol DSG 4x4. It's my first Skoda and this was my first visit to the dealer for a service. I've read plenty of horror stories about visits to dealers and I agree, you have to have your wits about about you, but I can't fault the service I received. I dropped the vehicle off, they gave it the once over and told me what they recommended and i let them get on with it - they even changed the batteries in both key fobs as part of the service.
  7. Brake fluid change was included under the 'All-in-one' service schedule that I had completed last month on my Karoq - also included oil change, air and pollen filter change and extended scope.
  8. I've recently become the new owner of a 2019 Karoq DSG 4x4 and I purchased the all in service plan separately from Skoda as I've had similar policies before with other car manufacturers and they just work for me. I booked the car in to the local Skoda dealers (Furrows - Oswestry) and let them check it over and complete whatever work was required. It turned out that it needed an oil change, spark plugs, air and pollen filters (all of which I knew were covered under the plan). I'd also noticed that the 'low battery in key fob' message was appearing when I used a certain key so, as I was there, I asked if the batteries could be replaced in both keys. I was amazed when everything was finished and I had nothing extra to pay! I was quite prepared to pay for the batteries but was told they are covered under the service plan. I know we are only talking about 2 key fob batteries but that got we wondering - what else is covered that isn't obvious? What work have you had completed under the Service Plan, that you initially thought wasn't covered?
  9. Just had a quote today from local Skoda dealers for Cam Belt change on the Karoq (Petrol 1.5) - £1018.66. The recommended time for change is 50k miles or 5 years, whichever comes first.

  11. Well it's actually Wrexham, but if you've seen the sports news over the weekend you'll know what I mean! Literally owned my first Skoda for 3 days. Never thought for one minute I would ever buy one (no reason other than never thought about a owning a Skoda). All that changed when, a few weekends back, we decided to go to a 'car supermarket' to take a look around. We looked at half a dozen different cars, BMW X2, Audi Q2, Ford Kuga to name but a few. As soon as we sat in the Karoq we both said 'this is what we want'. Now here we are, a few weeks later with a 2019 Karoq 1.5 SE L DSG 4x4. Is it perfect - no (I hate how I have to re-connect the car and phone via WLAN every time I get in the car to use Skoda Connect), but do we love it - absolutely! We love the space, it's flexibility with the rear seats and of course, the bin accessory in the front door! Happy motoring.....
