  1. Hi, so have just trawled through my paper work and indeed I did pay for the MOT outside of the "All in One" deal. I think I got a cheap deal at Halfords. So you do need to pay for the 1st MOT and then the following will be covered by the "All in One". Well that was how I did it. Maybe it can be fiddled by the dealers but it did not work that way for me. I will check how much it will cost me to cancel the last few months and see if I can get the discounted "All in One" by the end of August. The current deal I am paying is £25.60 month so it worked out well to cancel it last time (I think I even got a refund as I had not drawn down on the policy). I have a friend who has a Seat version of the Karoq and was quite surprised how much more he was paying....
  2. BTW - I did cancel my policy to get the cheaper price two years ago and it worked out OK. It saved me a lot. My car did not need another check, so I think you were told BS to just get you to keep the policy.... I might see if I can cancel again to get the current 20% off - by end of August unless they run the deal again later this year?
  3. I have reached the end of my "can I be Bothered" tether on this with Skoda. I agree the whoel Cambelt saga is pretty dismal, and it is great that we are now finally in line with Europe, yet they can't find the way to inspect it. I am no mechanic so I can not vouch if it is possible or not... The attitude from VWFS showed me that it was pointless in going any further with a complaint and similar with the dealer, it is not going to gain me anything and on the CamBelt the risk of it going pop in 7 years is something I will live with and if it does then I will no doubt have discussions on how the "All in One Policy" should have clocked it... 🙄 I post this here if anyone else wants to check what they actually get for the All in One and if there dealer inspects the CamBelt then it would be good to know... life is too short...
  4. A quick update... The dealer has agreed to do the inspection and after prompting from me offered a goodwill gesture for my time as I had to take the car back on Friday. Overall on this I have "wasted" 4+ hours... VWFS - (maybe an offshore call handler) says it is an issue for the dealers and ultimately not really interested, just wanted to close complaint down. By the time I talked to VWFS complaints team I had already been called back by the dealer so I agreed to close the complaint down. I took the car in on Friday just before 9am and was told it would be ready by 10am but did not get it back until nearly 11am - I returned to the office from just before 10am. No apology for the delay or missing the work in the first place, and I got the feeling they were not really bothered. While sat watching the team of 3 deal with calls showed how busy the location was and there is a need for a bigger workshop for VAG cars in Banbury I don't think the location can cope and one team member was sat on sofa working with her laptop and did not have a desk. That is never good for team working and needs to be sorted. I got an entry in the service history that "Additional Inspection Scope" was carried out. They said it had a diag check but no fault codes found. They said that I should have had that item line for the future services with the All in One package. I bet others using Banbury have not had it done.... I was told that they could not inspect the Cam Belt and that a video sent to me shows why - never got a video and I will let that one go... Can I trust them? - Who knows? (maybe not but unless you watch them you never know...) Was it worth raising a fuss? - maybe I got a bit of goodwill in £ but maybe lost goodwill from the chaps who carry out the work and might cost me more in the long run, or maybe they will take more care with me in the future? Who knows, I don't... It certainly has left me feeling that if I can use another dealer next time I might well do so. So for those with an "All in One" service package this might or might not be of interest.... I will buy another when this ends because of the Warranty and it gives me a chance (maybe small) to claim on it if something big fails...... As I plan to keep the car for another couple of years...
  5. Thanks to everyone who has replied I will see what next year brings if I keep the car as planned... Cheers
  6. Thanks for folks responses so far and just to clarify which I perhaps should have done at the start. The All in One Package promises (or did 2 years ago) the following: - The issue is that Listers Banbury did not undertake a Bodywork, drive belt inspection. The staff at Listers Banbury have been very helpful but it is not on their checklist so I have absolutely no gripe with the staff and and I have been impressed by them. It looks like there could be a disconnect between what VWFS sells and what is being delivered. I have raised a formal complaint with VWFS and Listers today to see if they can explain why there is a disconnect. Another poster has kindly sent me a check list they got from their dealer and it does cover the Belt and Bodywork as shown here It is way more detailed and a longer list so if I had that from the dealer saying they had followed the tick list sheet I would have no issue. I suggest folk check if you are paying for the "All in One" package ensure your dealer actually does a Bodywork and Drive Belt check - especially now Drive belts are not being replaced early... I will update the thread as and when I know more. If anyone else on the "All in One" package gets a different report always good to see how the different dealer networks are following through on what VWFS sells us. Cheers
  7. MOT done yesterday as part of the Service and MOT in "All in One" package. Car is 5 years old - brakes never changed (I drive gently) and has 46,000 miles I am tempted to leave the brakes as they say nothing about disc depth just that they look rusty... 🙄
  8. Well I did just that as the nice service chap phoned me and we just had a chat about the missing items on the tick sheet. In relation to that question he said they plug the machine in but don't print out the report and it was all OK - (gov - trust me... 😉 of course I have to as they are the experts) Now it got pretty interesting re the Body Work inspection and he said it was a German thing and not done in the UK hence not on the tick sheet. I pointed out that it was a German(ish) car and perhaps it should be as I am paying for an inspection in the "All in One" package and I would not want a warranty claim denied if I did not get what I had paid for. He realised that perhaps what he had just said was suspect and a bit of a logic trap and said he would do some more checking before I went down a route of chatting with VWFS who I have a contract with to see ifd I should expect a UK dealer to carry out a full Body Inspection. I await his call back... 😉 BTW - The reason for investing my spare time to do this is 1. I have spare time and 2. we need to ensure that we truly do get what the marketing blurb says we will when we sign up for contracts and only by asking akward questions do we hold companies to account. I am also truly interested in what other folk get from other garages - We have already had one lucky chap get the Brake Fluid FOC where I just paid £75 for that on the same "All in One" package...
  9. The tick sheet makes no mention of the following: - Bodywork, Drive Belt, locks, Diagnostic check and report? - Would be nice to see the report IMO Should it =have ticks for the items above? I guess I just have to assume it has been done, but kinda of interested to see what other garages provide as evidence. Especially as I want to ensure that what I am paying for in the "All in One" package is what I get...
  10. So car serviced yesterday and a few curious things thrown up that they say need attention but it passed MOT OK. Red Item - Rusting of front brakes "Front brake discs corroded requires replacement with pads" £430 to replace... Amber - A/C Service - £159 - I have always viewed A/C services as a bit of a con? - Should I still view it as such? Misting of Oil on both front Shocks £745 to rectify? both front shock absorber light misting of oil A new one on me Wishbone unbonding? Cost of £205 to replace? O/S/F suspension lower arm wishbone bush unbonding Here is MOT Report
  11. Hi so just got the car serviced yesterday under the All in One policy and I have some questions for anyone who fancies commenting... On the paper work I got back from the Garage it made no mention of the following that are clearly stated as being part of the policy. Full Vehicle Road test Diagnostic Check - including a report A report to include lights, bodywork, glass, locks etc.... The report I got was just a video showing the underside of the car. - See a seperate post on some amber items they have noted.... Should I expect to see more evidence. Just had a follow up from the garage and they sent me the tick sheet as the report - I guess I have to trust the diagnostics report was OK. What do other folk get from their garage of choice?
  12. My wife has the Kona EV 6A kWh and it's excellent. A very good choice and with a 5 year warranty a comfort to know they have faith in the underlying fundamentals. If you have solar panels it's a no brainer choice. Enjoy....
  13. Thanks I bet those paying for a new belt might be a bit miffed.
  14. Sorry can't read that as restrictions to Freedom membership. Any chance of doing a quote?
  15. Pity I am not using your dealer... I wonder how they will cross charge it to Skoda? Anyway that is their problem and you have had a bonus.
