TMC traffic events no longer being received...firmware update required?
I've just undertaken a journey today which should have taken an hour and a half (according to my sat nav) but actually took two and a quarter. As TMC isn't operational none of the hold-ups registered on the sat nav so obviously no attempt to reroute. Can't see how TMC is "obsolete" as this was the sat nav built into a Skoda which is just 4 years old. The point has been made that this can only increase congestion and pollution. This has cost me more in fuel than it needed to. I will be pushing again both with my local dealership and also with Skoda UK. Customers services have shown no interest in escalating the problem so I will have to do this myself.

TMC traffic events no longer being received...firmware update required?
Further to my recent post - I have now received a response to my further emails to Skoda customer service. Having already said that this is not a matter the digital team appear able to resolve and my local dealership have already tried, they have now advised to try a different dealership or try the digital team ! Very helpful!! They have not, as I requested, escalated this matter within Skoda. Justifies my earlier comment about wasting everyone's time. I presume no one else is getting a response from customer services other than similar to this ?

What I find particularly concerning is that it must be absolutely clear to the VW group that TMC is no longer being broadcast by their provider (Trafficmaster)to their SatNavs. They appear to have chosen not to confirm this and are attempting to waste the time of their customers (and also dealerships) by directing this to dealerships when it is clear that there is nothing they can do. Customer Services have chosen not to reply to my last 2 emails requesting further clarification on the situation. It appears that Skoda/VW group are being deliberately evasive resulting in many members of this forum (and no doubt many others) spending significant time trying to get to the crux of the problem. This is unsatisfactory customer relations and I find this stance surprising given the diesel emissions issue. I will contact my local dealership to see if they have an update - no doubt unlikely - as they are already aware of my problem, with the likelihood beyond that of having to escalate this to senior management at Skoda

TMC traffic events no longer being received...firmware update required?
I have had a response from Skoda customer services directing me to the digital team covering Skoda Connect which advised further that if they could not help, then to contact my local dealership. Having already had no success through my local dealership, I have gone back to customer services to suggest they should be able to communicate how this was going to be resolved and that I was unclear how the team responsible for Skoda Connect could help as it wasn't an issue to do with Skoda Connect (I do not subscribe) There was no recognition that this is a widespread problem and quite frankly the initial response was very disappointing when clearly they DO know that this is not an isolated problem. I am awaiting a further reply from customer services.

TMC traffic events no longer being received...firmware update required?
My Karoq has been serviced today by my local dealership and I mentioned the TMC problem. I didn't request any action, just if they had any information as to what was the cause. My vehicle is covered by an extended warranty so they updated the Sat Nav software and said that they hoped this would resolve it. I had already said that it didn't appear to be an issue with an individual car, so not surprisingly TMC is still not working. I will call them to advise the problem hasn't been resolved. It appears that someone else had been in during the course of the day to raise the TMC problem so clearly dealers are being advised by numerous people. I was told at the dealership that they thought there could be a problem linking with satellites but given that TMC is part of a radio broadcast, I think there isn't any science behind this. No further forward but clearly there is no meaningful dialogue between dealerships and Skoda regarding resolution. Those posting advising that there seems to be no point in going to a dealership appear to be spot on.

I have a 2019 Karoq and TMC stopped working about 2 weeks ago. My sister in law has a VW Golf of a similar age and it is not working on that car either. Neither of us subscribe to on-line services. My wife has a stand alone Mio Sat Nav and TMC is working fine on this. Clearly the issue appears to be with VW group vehicles (possibly others) and TMC still appears to be broadcast. My car is due for MOT/Service at my local dealership on Wednesday so I will raise this on the basis that it is not an issue only relating to my vehicle and whether they can shed any light on when/how this will be rectified, suggesting they clarify via Skoda centrally. I will post again if I get anywhere. Having an in car Sat Nav which is unable to flag an overnight closure on a busy motorway - as happened to me last week - is of limited use. Clearly there are numerous other people experiencing the same problems
