  1. I've relented and bought a 'generic' set that according to the seller, should fit VRS seats well albeit not a tailored fit. Time will tell.
  2. Yes, I've searched and read many, many threads but there doesn't seem to be an simple / consistent answer. My ask is simple - I want waterproof covers for front seats that are tailored (not generic) to protect the seat when getting in wet / muddy from MTB'ing. I have searched here, Google, used a bit of AI, contacted multiple eBay sellers but have yet to find tailored covers - I know that a generic / baggy cover will do the same job but would be nice to have the option to leave them on and the car still look like a VRS ! Any suggestions gratefully received.
  3. Quick update - been back to the dealer twice with restarts, disconnects and blank screen. All SW has been updated and diagnostics ran (twice) but nothing appearing as a fault. 2 days before warranty expired, issues still happening so dealer has raised a fault with Skoda UK and will continue to investigate under warranty. Car goes in on Thursday for a few days (!?) with the comment that if they can't find & rectify the fault, it will be a new Infotainment unit fitted. Hope they keep to their word.
  4. I had a removable Westfalia fitted primarily for bike rack. Doesn't affect the sensors but obviously they don't function as expected when bike rack is on. Required a small cut in bumper but TBH, you can't see it unless you are looking for it.
  5. I have HUD on mk4 and love it as I don't need to move my vision to check speed & other attributes. SatNav (Waze on Android) does show directions (which is useful) but is quite often wrong (not so useful) - it will show a turn & distance but often gets left/right wrong.
  6. Unlikely to be retro-fit but I can say that the Canton is a massive disappointment after having B&O in my previous Audis. HUD is surprisingly useful but not necessarily for navigation as quite often, Android Auto / Waze has the correct directions but these don't get shown in HUD - roundabouts are a guess if using HUD only !
  7. Quick search; With the rear seats up and measuring up to the ceiling, the boot capacity is approximately 804 litres (https://how-many-bags-fit.com/car-make/skoda/skoda-octavia-combi-1-5-tsi-boot-space-dimensions-luggage-capacity/?form=MG0AV3)
  8. I'm now convinced that my issue is down to 'mixing' screenwash as I've been using the same one since I got the car but needed to top up during a drive so bought a small bottle of something different. So, now need to remove & clean filter - anyone got any guides on how to do this other than remove front/nearside wheel, remove bottom trim, remove back trim, remove bottle & clean.
  9. If your car had towbar prep at the factory, it should have (1) different battery / alternator, (2) pre-wiring and (3) towbar ready valance. However, mine has towbar prep but did NOT have the correct valance - dealer was happy to source one for me (at a price) but in the end, I went with a 3rd party who cut the valance (with my permission). Unless you are lying down behind the car, you can't see the cutout.
  10. Many manufactures rebrand Thule - I managed to pick up (from flea-bay) a new 'Volvo' bike carrier that looks suspiciously like the Thule Proride for about half the price. Little bit of black gaffer tape and Volvo logo has vanished !
  11. Roof bars - having had estate cars with roof bars for 30+ years, my opinion is that you can have cheap or good. After many years of cheap, I invested in Thule Wingbar Evo and IMHO, they are brilliantly designed & made. They are quiet, very functional (T-track) and very secure - as they have separate kits for feet, connecters & bars, you can re-use if/when you change vehicle. They are not cheap but I'm happy leaving on the car pretty much all the time as they have minimal impact on fuel efficiency.
  12. I have mine set to dip at long distance and rarely get flashed. In fact, the most times I get flashed is when the berk driving towards me has a faulty headlight and my car assumes that it's a motorbike or not a car. Not bothered about that but I quite often turn it off on country lanes as they have no time to react before dazzling the other driver.
  13. Possibly but both fronts stopped at the same time suggesting it's not the jets. Will have a look tomorrow anyway.
  14. There is another post that may be of interest. My front washer stopped but motor running, rear very weak with little water flow.
  15. I have noticed exactly the same thing and now press Park before STOP. No idea if it makes a difference but does sound better.
