Hello everyone, I have owned a Kodiaq 2.0 TDI 190hp since 6 months ago, the car has covered 60,000 miles.
First of all, let me say that I am aware of how DPF regeneration works, but recently a strange thing has been happening to me, which seems to tell me to top up the battery rather than DPF regeneration, although it has the same symptoms. Since I travel short distances to work every day (1.5 miles one way) the active regeneration comes on relatively often (at about 80 miles) if I drive it exclusively around town. What has been confusing me lately is that the regeneration starts (the revolutions increase to 1000rpm and the fan continues to work when I stop the regeneration) when I arrive at work and the engine has not even reached 80c, which is a condition for the start of the regeneration, and the message engine must appear be running but what's even more strange to me is when I come back in the afternoon and go home (after 8 hours after turning off the car) it all resumes immediately when I start the car...I drive a little fast on the open highway for about 8 miles and it all goes off. Since everything points to DPF regeneration, I am concerned that it activates when the car is cold, so I suspect that maybe the car is trying to recharge the battery.
Has anyone had a similar experience?
