I cant imagine that most people find 2000 OK. I have about 4500, and like others have said, often my commonly used numbers dont get synced.
What a dumb restriction. I also have a Hyndai which costs half as much, and no such restriction. -
I have a 2017 Octavia Mk 3, and since the day I took delivery, a year ago, there is no warning alarm if the front passenger does not wear the seat belt. It went for it's first service today, and the service guys say that Octavias do not have an alarm for front passenger seat belt at all. True?
I am worried that if there is a seat weight sensor that is not working, the airbag might not deploy in a crash.
I rented an Octavia in Croatia, and I think [not sure], that there was a passenger seat belt warning?

I checked this morning using dot matrix display:
Total journey 4.5 miles
Oil temperature showed up first time at 51 degrees, after driving 2.6 miles.
At the end of my journey, oil temperature was 74 degrees, water 90.
Where do you get the temp figures from?

Thanks guys.
Found the engine code. CRVC, which is in fact an EA 288.

Why would you care?
The car drives well, and I have read horror stories about loss of power, increased noise etc after the correction.

Just bought a MK3 with a 2 litre tdi engine. How do I check if the engine is the 'famous' ea 189?

For voice guidance check that the volume for navigation is not set to 0 & you havent set the voice to "mute".
There is an option in the setup menu for navigation volume controls.
I find often when changing the volume for the music, I actually change the navigation instruction volume as the voice cuts in while I'm changing the volume.
During the navigation instructions and for 1s or so afterwards you can use the scroll Wheel to increase the audio volume but afterwards its not so easy unless you wait until the next instruction & scroll-up the Wheel.
I presume that this is in the nav settings for nav volume. I have set it to 25 [max] and the audio volume to complete mute when nav voice should come on. The audio mutes for a second on and off, when I presume the navigation voice should be kicking in, but there is no voice guidance at all.

Hi guys,
New car, and confused about two issues.
- Do all Amundsen systems have voice control? I have the buttons, but nothing happens when I press them
- I can't seem to get the voice guidance for the navigation
Tried re booting by pressing the power for 30 seconds as one post here suggested, but no luck.
Suggestions?

Could be fuel float for the level sender.
Could be. It's rather annoying. Do you guys also have a noise with a full tank of fuel?

Nice one. So now you have switched 12v sockets and a switched dashcam hardwired in.
Easy wasn't it
Thanks to you :-)
Removing the A pillar trip was scary. Needed a huge amount of force. Also, someone had said that the guy who designed the location of the fusebox needs to be shot. I agree.

Unless they have changed the design which I doubt, the rear seatbelt indicator is a reminder only. AFAIK there are no sensors in the rear seats, just driver and passenger seats.
I was talking about the front passenger seat.
-
In my new car, the indicator goes off even if the passenger is not belted up, as long as the driver is.
I'm worried that if a weight sensor in the seat is not working, the airbag deployment might be affected?

Filled up and the noise is back. Has to be fuel. Never heard this in any other of my cars though, including the Octavia Mk2. Or at least, I never noticed it before in any other car.
-
Read more than a few threads here but still unclear on this.
For the car to drive straight, my steering wheel has to be held pointing slightly to the left. If I leave the steering though, the car does not pull to either side and drives straight.
So is it likely an alignment issue, or is it that the steering wheel needs to be re fitted a few splines differently?
Brand new Octavia, so not a tyre issue.

I needed standard size blade fuses in my Octavia 3.
Thanks. I ordered the mini ones, saw that they were wrong and reordered the standard. Using the mini now in my other car.
-
Duh, it was the fuse. Stupid manual had the no 40 fuse wrongly marked. When I checked the small lettering inside the fuse box, the one the manual had shown as 40 was 39, so I was checking the wrong fuse.

Hi Guys,
Opened the fuse box to put a piggy back fuse for my dashcam, and suddenly my cigarette lighter is not getting any power. Any suggestions? the fuse looks OK.

This was my initial thought too. The fact the noise has gone after you've emptied a fair chunk of fuel/weight backs this up IMO.
Go fill the tank again and try it. This happened on both my Octavias and also on two Seat Leons.
I don't think I have had this in any other car that I have owned. Why should the noise happen when full? I would have expected noise with a half full tank maybe?
-
What do you know. Did 200 kms and the sound is gone.
Checked all the wheel bolts as well as brake calipers [when I switched to bigger tyres], and all were OK.
-
A lot of mounts here are shown on the left of the mirror. My mirror has a sensor there. Dont other mirrors also have similar sensors? Doesn't trhe camera block the sensor?
-
Seen some posts mentioning that the Octavia 3 needs a mini blade, but some posts say standard.
Which should I order?

Standard size, any fuse tap will do.
I just ordered this. Hope it will do.
Edit: Your first post shows a link to a mini blade fuse type, while now the last link is to a standard size. Which is it?
Thanks for the help :-)

When you say 'Skoda agreed',
are you talking about 'Skoda India', Skoda CZ or some employee in a dealership or who do you ask?
Got it in writing from the dealer of Skoda India.
Changing Keyfob Battery

Thanks guys. I never seemed to get good life out of the 2025 batteries, and I suspect that's because either what I get are either really old or fakes. The 2032s work great. Would have never thought to try them if it weren't for chancing upon this thread.
