Hi everyone. I've just purchased a new aftermarket stereo for my Elegance. I believe I need a 16 pin wiring harness and I think I need a canbus connector too. Is that right? Has anyone fitted one recently and can recommend a link for buying the correct harness? Thanks.

I have just disconnected the Columbus head unit from the car. I need to jump it when the wife is back from work as the battery is registering 10.8v and won't turn over. I am hoping this will prove/disprove if it is the head unit and if so, I will pick something else up. Can anyone recommend anything android compatible that won't cost heaven and earth?

Good morning all! As I went to drive yesterday, I heard a pulsing/drum beat type noise coming from my speakers, but noticed that the Columbus unit in my 2012 Elegance was switched off. I attempted to switch it on only to find the screen was dead. I drove home with the drum beat continuing until I stopped the car. I noticed that when I turned the engine off and took the key out, the car made one more drum beat despite having no power. I went back out to the car later and performed a scan which came up with two new error messages: 01300 - Active/Static - Control Module for Navigation with CD Rom (J401) - sporadic 004 - No Signal/Communication. 01304 - Active/Static - Radio - sporadic 004 - No Signal/Communication. Shortly thereafter, the car lit up like a Xmas tree with lots of errors, all connected to low voltage. From thereon, the car would not start due to battery having ran flat. The battery is only two years old. Am I right in thinking the Columbus system is dying/has died and is causing some sort of drain on the battery? Can anyone recommend next steps? Thanks. 🙂

Hi all, Thanks to "how-to's" in this forum I have just replaced my dsg thermostat on my Superb Mk 2. I lost minimal coolant by following the clamp advice. My question is, do I need to bleed the coolant now (and if so, how?) Or do I just leave her be? Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi folks, A couple of wires in my driver door loom are cut through in the rubber housing (see pic). How do I remove the rubber housing from the door? Do I need to remove the soundproofing in my second pic? Thanks!

Hi everyone. I'm looking to update the sat nav on my recently purchased Mk2. Am I able to do this via the Skoda website for free or do I need to pay to do it? The Skoda website only seems to mention cars from 2015 onwards which I assume is the Mk3. Does anyone know what I need to do in order to update? Also, when I first got the car a couple of months ago, I could play Spotify via Bluetooth as well as make/take calls. Now only the calls work and I have to connect Spotify via an aux cable. It just doesn't seem to be able to recognise my music. Any ideas why/what I might have done wrong? Many thanks!

I suspect so.ething stopped working jonny, as the L-shaped bit that goes into the fascia plate is missing so there is nowhere for the wire to connect to. I've ordered an aftermarket copy to see if that does the job. One other question...when I picked the car up, someone appeared to have pushed the instrument cluster dimmer wheel (next to the knob for the exterior lights) into the recess behind it. I removed the unit and reinstalled the dimmer wheel so that it was sat where it should be. Does it only dim the green lights in the centre console, or should it also dim the dashboard lights for rom and mph etc? Mine only seems to dim lights in the centre console. Sorry for all the questions!

Okay...so I took a look this evening. One of the pics below shoes my fascia plate for the memory seats. Another photo shows the free wire I found digging around. I could see that the wire won't connect to the fascia plate as something seems to be missing. A quick look online revealed some sort of backing plate seems to be missing (pic attached of what I think it should look like). Do I need to buy that part to get the seat memory working?

Hello! Picked up my Elegance 140 2.0 diesel on Friday night. I went to use the memory seat function but nothing happened. Saw on here there is a reset procedure but again, no joy. I then found to my dismay that I was able to pick up the plastic memory seat plate and it had no wiring attached. Does the Elegance come with Memory Seat as standard, and if so, is it easy to go rooting in the seat to find the wiring? Thanks in advance for any light you can shed on this. :o)
