  1. I mean they move independently of one another. The solid red like always move up as the engine heats up. Normal temp for the engine just idling is 99-100c. Normal driving temp is 104c and the highest I've seen the temp is on a race day it was 108c. The single lines to the left of the solid red line moves whenever it feels like it, I feel like. It can start at the bottom on a cold start or somewhere in the middle and moves either up or down, unrelated to the oil temp which only goes up to where you see it in the picture. I've seen it all the way at the top, where that small white separator thingy is just driving normally and it's where you see it in the picture having driven the car hard. Things I've thought it has been related to has been oil life, but that didn't make sense for very long. Then maybe it was gearbox temp or maybe differential temp, but I really don't know.
  2. The solid red line moves up to that point when engine is up to tenp, engine is always around 100-105c highest I've seen it is 108c. The one to the left of the solid oil temp line kinda goes up at times and down at others, don't know what it signals. Not temperature related I'd guess, cause it moves independently of the engine temp. It can be in the middle when I start the car and it's cold and then move down or it can start at the bottom and move up. It just confuses me.
  3. Yeah oil temp is in the right, but the one that's like lines and not a solid bar, no idea.
  4. So I have this gauge I just can't figure out what it... Gauges? The one to the left, the one with the lines. I looked in the manual and it mentions all the other things more or less, or I can figure it out myself but this eludes me. It's not static cause it does move, just can't get what it moves for or how to word it...
  5. @Tazdaz & @HappySam Thank you both! I spoke with a Skoda dealer where I live just to ask what they wanted for one, they wanted almost 350€ for a new one. I went searching online and found a nice used one out of Germany for 115€ with 25€ shipping so that's a good discount. Having the number to search with helped a lot, so thanks again!
  6. Hello, greetings! So when I bought my Octavia VRS Combi second hand from a dealer it did not come with a parcel shelf, bit annoying but not the end of the world. The windows in the back are quite dark due to tint and even on a sunny day you can't really see much. But it's always in the back of my mind when I have to leave something in the back, what if someone sees it and want it. And it would also make it look nicer than what it does now and block some sounds, so having one would be a good upgrade. To alleviate this concern I've decided to go out and look for a parcel shelf for it, but that's where I run into a bit of a snag. I live in Spain, hour south of Alicante I've been around to every car graveyard in my area and I've found there are not many Skoda's in any of them, and none are the combi Octavia from the right year, 2019. So what would be super helpful, if anyone have a part number I can look up, know if the shelf from another model Skoda or VAG car would fit and work, or know of any second hand that would be super helpful. I don't mind paying for shipping from Europe or the UK if you have one you don't need and want to sell it, I just really want a parcel shelf. If not I have to go to a Skoda dealer and see if they have a solution and I'm not too keen on paying the dealer OEM tax. I have been looking for one on and off since I got the car 2 and a half months ago, but eBay has not provided yet, and no part number then it's hard to search for one. Anyway, hope you are well and thanks!
  7. I'm not a professional photographer, and I'm not really sure this is the right place to post, never been on forums before. I drove past this abandoned military helicopter hangar and thought it would be a nice backdrop for some pictures of my new love, nicknamed Blue I (Blue the First), she goes like stink and is so nice to drive. Best car I've ever had and I've had a few. Thinking about some upgrades, want to put some black rims on her and some other cosmetic things. Also looking into if it's possible to retrofit stuff like memory seats, get satnav in the digital gauge cluster (for now stuck with android auto on the infotainment screen), maybe radar guided cruise control, but I imagine that would be expensive if even possible. I have some friends in Germany that has offered to tinker on it for me, maybe get some more oomph out of the engine, but I'm not decided on that yet. They have long experience tuning VAG products so it's not like some sketchy back alley thing. I feel 245 horses are plenty but why turn down close to 300 if it can be done relatively easily. Also want to put an exhaust system on it, inside it sounds nice but outside it sounds like a vacuum cleaner on steroids, not very exciting compared to Leon Cupra or Golf GTI. Probably because it's more of a family car than a sports car, but a little bit more emotion from the tailpipe wouldn't go amiss I think. Looking for new rubber for it as well, it has 4 year old Bridgestone Potenza Sport all around right now, but I feel that the car struggle a little bit with grip sometimes. Mainly when accelerating, first and second gear is not worth dipping into the throttle, but 3rd onwards it just goes. In turns it is planted like nothing I've felt before, accidentally took a hairpin at Mach Jesus and it just dealt with it, really surprised. So I've been looking around for maybe some more grippy rubber, but know very little about it, so if you know something that would be an upgrade to the Bridgestones then please let me know. Wanting to keep it under 175ish € a wheel. I looked at the Pirelli P Zero and Michelin Pilot Sport 5, but as I said don't know much or if it will be an upgrade to the Potenza Sport. I live on the coast in Spain, very little rain and too many hot days, so don't need all seasons, only summer tires. The car has some weird specs from the factory, but it was such a good deal for what it was that I felt I couldn't pass it up, clean title, 2019 model, done a little more than 60k kilometers, good service record, timing belt has been changed as well, which I've heard could be a problem for these engines. Anyway I'm rambling, here's the pictures if you wanna see.
  8. Hey y'all, I'm the current new guy. I'm based in Spain, originally from Norway and in 2008 I made the horrible mistake of moving to Spain. Now I'm too lazy to move back so I just deal with the heat... Recently bought myself a 2019 Blue Skoda Octavia VRS 245, loving the car so far. Put about 1500 kilometers on it in 4 days, it's a dream to drive compared to my old car. Currently trying to figure out what's possible to do with the car and what's not possible. Learning a lot of new things and I'm hoping to be able to syphon some of the collective knowlege in here to fully understand my car and to make it even better. I will probably have some questions that will make you scratch your head and ask yourself "why on earth does he want to do that"... maybe not we'll see. Anyway I hope you all are good and thanks for letting me join up! -BEM
