Speedo stopped working
Wow, there's a lot (not) happening there. Have you tried to have read it out for error codes and then have it reset?

Squeeky noise at start-up?
I couldn't open the sound files, so I might be completely wrong. However, I mention what I have in mind anyway. Last month I had a weird squeeky noise every time when turning the ignition switch on and every now and then when driving. Just a second or so, not a minute like yours. Turned out to be the flasher/hazard light relais.

Passenger seat not heating
Apologies for errors in the text above. English is not my native language and typing on a smartphone doesn't help either. 😁I tried to correct the text, but couldn't find a way to do so.

Passenger seat not heating
Hello my dear technical wizards, Here's the problem I have: The passenger seat isn't heating, while the driver seat is working well. This is what I've done to check what could be wrong: - When turning the rotating heated seat switches, I can hear a click somewhere near the fuse box or under the steering wheel. Anyway, there's a relais switching on, which seems good news. - When measuring the green connector (what a *** to loosen with the seat in situ! 😅), I can see a voltage of 10.9 V when turning on the switch. This is between the two terminals as shown on the photo. The one in the corner is earth. - I've also checked the other two terminals, of which one is also earth, but I couldn't get a reading. As I've read that the heating elements are connected in series, I reckon this can't be the problem. Although I don't know where these two terminals are for. - There's a black 2-terminal connector under the seat too, perhaps connecting the lower and upper heating elements? I've measured for a resistance on this one, which was 1.25 ohm. Am I right in thinking that, as the seat does seem to be getting electricity, one of the heating elements should be faulty? And as I got a decent (?) resistance reading from the black connector, assuming this is the upper heating element, is it safe to say the lower element must have a broken wire? There are a lot of assumptions above, so please correct me if I'm wrong. I really do not know what I'm doing honestly. But if the lower heating element is broken, could it be repaired (I reckon soldering won't last a month) or replaced? And of the latter, where does one find these parts? Thanks in advance for thinking with me! Kind regards, Tim

Short intro
Hello, Thanks for having me on this forum. I'm Tim, situated in the Netherlands and riding a 2001 Octavia 1 Estate Elegance. The reason: I have been a life long Skoda fan and always dreamed of owning one. No, I'll be honest: I was looking for an affordable and reliable car with lots of space and this one came up. Simple as that. 😅 Over the years, I've ended up on this forum more than I should with the Skoda having a name of being so reliable. Anyway, I've found some useful information here (thanks for that) and now I can use some guidance with a new problem, requiring a post of my own. It's how most of you ended up subscribing I guess.
