Skoda fabia fuse locations
Sorted it now, 'her' ashtray light didn't work : "HOW MUCH FOR A BULB??" I took the bulb apart and fitted an led in it's place.. (Drilled through the plastic bulb carrier and put spade connectors on the end of the cable to plug it into the socket.) Luckily, I have a few 5mm 12v white led's laying about! SKODAPARTS want 14.19€ just for this piddly little thing! (You can't see the mounting/plug when it's fitted, so bolleaux to them!)

Fabia Mk1 1200 3cyl Petrol - Which type of thermostat fits? Can I fit the dual thermostat housing?
Hi, I am going to "sod it all" and fit a complete thermostat housing. There are however two real options, I can fit the same type (03C121111B) that has a single thermostat, or I can fit (in theory) another (03C121111AB) that has two thermostats. Would it be ok to fit the two thermostat one? Ta muchly in advance, Reg

Fabia Mk1 1200 3cyl Petrol - Which type of thermostat fits?
The heater isn't too brilliant on our Skoda Labia, so how do I know which one fits without taking it apart? Is it the one that comes in kit form (A), or the good old standard BL Mini type (B)? (Or does either one fit?) I want to get one ready so I don't have to muck around draining it twice! Ta muchly, Reg

Hi, only happens whe we're driving.... (Tickover is as smooth as a 3 cylinder gets!) It's not a single cylinder misfire, and it doesn't smoke..

Fabia Mk1 1200 3cyl Misfires/loss of power Codes 17580, 17952, p0221, p0123, p0222
I have now tried cleaning the throttle body (no good) checking all the wiring connections (nothing seems to be amiss) changed the throttle body (STILL DOES IT) and now I have changed the throttle pedal assembly. It STILL comes up with P0123, P0222 and 17580 and 17952 codes... What am I doing wrong?

Fabia Mk1 1200 3cyl Misfires/loss of power Codes 17580, 17952, p0221, p0123, p0222
I have a problem. Fabia Mk1 1200 3 cylinder. started misfiring/cutting out and the EPC light came on. It was coming up with codes 17580, 17952, p0221, p0123 and p0222. I have so far, cleaned the throttle body (ran a bit better then it started cutting out again, the EPC light returned, and the codes reappeared. (I use an ANCEL VD500 reader) I have now tried changing the throttle body, and it runs slightly better, but still chugs when you try to accelerate. On tickover it's absolutely fine! I haven't changed the ring seal under the T/B as I couldn't get one quickly (coming on Thursday/Friday) Now it kangaroo's just after you pull away, but the p0221, p0123 and p0222 codes don't come back up. My other half refuses to drive it as she doesn't like kangaroo petrol. If you do take it out for a trial run, and it starts to cough etc, if you turn off the ignition and then re-start it it clears the EPC light and carries on as if nothing happened. Where do I go from here? Answers please (on a plain postcard) to: Myhairsfallingout & Itsdoingmyheadin Bournemouth Dorset..

Key programming problems....
Sorry for being a pest, but I just wanted to know if there was a difference in the two types of key etc, and if that could affect the working/outcome?

Key programming problems....
Thanx for your reply, but the original key that we got with the car works fine, it's just that we can't get a second chip to work.. (It's doing my nut, as they say...)

Key programming problems....
Hello fellow Skodapilots, I'm having problems getting a key's transponder to be recognized by the vehicle's system. (A bit of history first) I bought this lovely little Fabia Mk 1 for my other half at a very good price just over a year ago, and we only got 1 key with it. (Note: No remote functions on the key) We visited a locksmith/keycutter place about 6 weeks ago, and he said he could cut us a spare key so we'd have one just to open the doors (If needed) and it worked fine. He then said he could get a transponder chip coded for us, and this would allow us to use it to start/run the engine etc. SO, we returned 2 weeks later and had him "copy" the transponder, to which he seemed to have great difficulty in getting it to work. When he finally got it to work, it did so for a while (after we left his establishment) and then it stopped and started putting the picture of the little car up on the dashboard. Ie the "Key not recognised" symbol.. (It even brought up an error on the odometer which I had to clear by disconnecting the battery) So I have two questions: 1) Should it be this difficult to programme a key? and 2) The key that he cut is of a slightly different style, as in it doesn't have the little black bits that come down the blade (see pictures) Would this affect it? I'm a long-time Skoda fan (I had a sporty little Estelle years ago, ok, it was sporty AFTER I had played with it a bit) and am awaiting others replies/recommendations.. Reg out!
