OBD Adapter & Torque Behaviour
A quick look at the Torque forum seems to indicate that leaving it in place is not advisable as it could be connected to by a third party with all the implications of unauthorised access. 🤷♂️

OBD Adapter & Torque Behaviour
Thanks for that. I believe the extension is simply Pin for Pin but to exclude that as a variable I simply went back to using the adapter directly in the OBD port. What seems to be happening is that if the Torque app is closed the adapter left in place and the car locked then all is well (except for the power drain as the adapter show the 'power' led as on. If the car is locked and the Torque app is then started or has been left running it sets of the alarm and I get an online movement in the car message. Car then has to be unlocked to silence the alarm. I'm concluding the OBD port is sensing the adapters attempt to make a connection and as the car is locked objecting and setting off the alarm. The idea was to avoid having to remove the adapter each time. I was hoping there may be a setting in Torque that closes the app automatically rather than leave it running in the background when it loses the BT data stream from the car as the ignition is switched off. Having looked at the settings in Torque there is a 'Remove Adapter Reminder' pop up setting so I think they may have covered this before and I've just got to the end of the cul-de-sac. 🙁

OBD Adapter & Torque Behaviour
History: I used to use an OBD BT adapter with my 1.6TDI Roomster and the VAG app to monitor the DPF regenerations. It performed very well and was left plugged in. I also used Torque occasionally. I changed to a Kamiq 1.0 Monte Carlo a few months back and am entirely happy with it.. but .. being a bit of a gadget freak decided I'd try the OBD adapter if only to see what was available with Torque. In order to make it as neat as possible I bought an extension cable so the adapter can sit in the trinket tray to the right of the steering wheel. All good and working except it seems to draw power whenever plugged in and secondly when the cars locked and Torque connects it sets of the alarm! I suspect the current draw is not a huge issue as it's likely very small but the alarm is a interesting point and may possibly be purposeful to avoid any tampering via the OBD port when the car has not been unlocked. Anyone got any views/advice/opinions?

Spare Wheel (again)
Great!. That's all too much for my simple brain. I'll live with the Skoda listed option. Hopefully it'll never be used👍

Spare Wheel (again)
Just ordered the spare wheel and wheel kit from Skoda Parts (Czech). Total cost 231 Euros (£196) delivered by Fedex in 5 -7 days. Best price a UK dealer could do was £220 and that was giving 10% off. 2 others were £260 (ish). They would have to order it and I'd have had to collect. None of the dealers seemed at all interested in competing. Used the (Czech) outfit for a set of mud flaps previously. Great service.

Corroded rear discs
FWIW... Mines an October 23 model MC and looks similar. They get such little use as most of the weight transfers to the front. I've taken to pulling the handbrake on when slowing down every so often as it cleans then up a treat.

Dashcam fitting
Have fitted the Next base Dashcam complete with rear camera. Took ages but very pleased with the result especially the rear camera wiring under the boot trim, through the boot grommet, headlining down the left side floor and up the A pillar. 3 hours but worth it. Have connected it to a permanent live as it has a "parking mode" Problem now is I'm getting "charge the battery by driving" So, what to do. Revert to a switched live? Maybe remove shunt resistor? Leave as is? Car is only 5 months old. It's never failed to start so I believe the Dashcam is powering down at some point but my concern is fort the battery's health. All suggestions welcome.

Rear hatch trim removal and rubber boot connecting wring to body loosened
Excellent many thanks. I'll be attempting that after the weekend.

Rear hatch trim removal and rubber boot connecting wring to body loosened
I'd be interested as well with a few photos if at all possible? I've done the front Dashcam but have held off on the rear as the trim seems pretty much fixed and I don't want to damage anything. The front dash end was bad enough.

Amundsen Mib2 Map Updates 2024
Many thanks Tell. Appreciate your help. As a complete novice with the interface I'm more than a little confused. I figured there is no sd card slot in the glove box so the 2 USB C type in the trinket tray are to be used. I have download the zipped maps from the Skoda portal to desktop, unzipped them and transferred the files only to a 64GB card. What I feel I should do now is check the current version installed before going to the next step. I'm a little surprised at the size (30GB approx)? Is it the whole of Northern Europe perhaps? I believe the next step is just to plug it in and wait but I'll feel more comfortable if I can compare the currently installed version with what I'm about to throw at it! It may just be that it's up to date and doesn't need changing. Car was first registered 31/10/23 so maybe built July/August time. Also Just realised I've downloaded Mib2. How do you even know?? Any advice appreciated, going for a lie down now. At least I haven't bricked anything....yet. Will read the thread again.

Amundsen Mib2 Map Updates 2024
First post, be gentle please. Just bought a 73 Kamiq. (upgrade from a 60 reg Roomster so a big change) Have read though numerous posts but am struggling to identify what map version is currently built in. I read about a hidden menu but cannot seem to access it. Also am I right is concluding any decent 64gb SD card will do as there it's only purpose is to transfer files to the head unit via either of the usb C ports in to central tray?
