I got this noise and after looking at this forum, I swapped the front wheel bearings but the front discs were very corroded along with the disc dust covers, (they were like burnt toast) and I ended up swapping the lot. The humming noise has now gone but I can’t tell you which component. Once I got the hubs off, they felt okay to turn. But one was stiff in the same part of the turn. So, no saying.

What I mean is , if I get one of these short engines off eBay will, my turbo, alternator, etc fit the BXE or do you mean there are lots of BKC’s on eBay. I found one, in Spain.

My Octavia Mk II has a BKC in it but I’m struggling to find a second hand replacement. I’ve seen a BXE for sale and the blurb says it is compatible. Can I swap my BKC for a BXE?
