  1. Hi Mark. My car was repaired while I was away, they said to run for 500-1k miles and they will flush it again. Just wanted to ask you a question. How clean was your coolant after the repair. Did you get it flushed again. Does your coolant look like coolant ie pink or green colour. Mine is really black and dirty. Not as bad as but is bad. I know it's not an easy job to clean out, just wondering how many flushes yours required. Thanks Pete
  2. Hopefully sorted in a day or so.
  3. £900 is a good price. Mines in at the moment and will be £1500 all in? I thought that was good given others wanted £1300 before seeing what was involved. Where did you get yours done. The place I went to are diesel specialists and well established, hence the price. Just glad it's getting done, been off the road 4 weeks. Thanks
  4. Hi, What was the outcome of your fault. Mine also has same problem, oil in coolant. It's taken me weeks to find someone to take it on. Booked into to 2 vw specialists, waited weeks for appointment only to be told on the day it's too time consuming for them. Mine is 2017 2.0 diesel. I've been told that there could also be problems later with water hoses failing due to oil weakening them. What was cost of your repair. I've been quoted £1600. Thanks
  5. Thanks for your reply Bap33, The is showing 12.4v and 13.2v when engine running. Is a battery change a DIY job or will it need coding. thanks I had the gearbox service done and sump cover replaced due to leaking and can't get the seal separately?? I have been experiencing some perculiar gear changing and as service was due, got it done. Appeared to be ok for a day or so. As I moved off from traffic lights there was sudden halt and engine cut out, saying "re start engine manually" which I did. While cruising at 60mph for several miles I felt a judder like a down shift, then nothing since. No engine fault code on display. Today as i negotiated a roundabout and pulling away the engine cut out, it re started itself. Amber warning lights on for tyre pressure, traction controll etc. Got error code for auto start stop. I switched everything off, waited a few mins and locked and unlocked doors. Car started and no warning lights or error messages. Drove home fine. Can a weak vehicle battery cause problems like this. Only say this as a friend had a Porsche and he experienced strange problems to old battery. Thanks

  7. Hi. Having to replace the sump on a DSG6 gearbox due to corrosion and a leak is this a common problem. By sump I assume the garage mean the mechatronic cover. Struggling to see how this could corrode given its location in the engine bay. Has anyone else experienced this. Thanks
  8. Thanks for your reply.
  9. Hi I'm new to the forum, so apologise in advance if posting in wrong place. I have a question about DSG6 service. I put my Superb 2.0 tdi in for service of dsg. The garage called me to say there is no point doing it as the sump is corroded and leaking. They ordered a sump and re book for service. Is this a common problem. Car done 80k. What is the going rate for DSG service. Dealer wanted £328. Garage £300 + VAT for service and new sump. Thanks
