I just left my stick in and at some point whilst driving it updated. There was no indication that it had occurred. I found out by checking my system details. Hope this helps.

When you unzipped your files did you copy all of them onto your usb?

22.12 is my present update. Over the air updates only if you subscribe to Škoda Connect. Free updates via your previously described method. Will wipe usb memory and download maps again. Thanks.

Had a full software update and this has solved my SatNav and loading user profile issues. Thanks for everyone’s help and interest. Still though unable to update maps.

I have just downloaded a map update for my satnav. I have extracted and pasted files to a usb stick. The info from Skoda says ‘paste the contents, not the entire folder to a usb stick.’ Do I paste all the content? Not sure what is meant by ‘not the entire folder’. Any advice welcomed.

Have switched off integrated data connection to see if that helps. Car into garage on Friday for gps hardware module check and possible software update.🤞

Travelled to Blackpool today using Apple Maps wired up and through CarPlay. Entering Blackpool and same old story- navigation goes AWOL! Stopped car and used Maps independently of car. No problem and not on the journey home either. Skoda have checked my car remotely and have found no issues and suggest it could be an issue with the GPS module. I have, as Skoda suggested, booked the car in for hardware analysis. That will happen early January. I shall keep you posted.

Hi Stoker. Thanks for your reply. i was under the assumption that CarPlay uses the car’s gps when using maps? That would result in the issues I’ve experienced. It would seem VW drivers have experienced similar issues. Using the phone independently, causes no issues.

Should have mentioned this in last message. Does anyone else experience long delays in loading user profile when starting up the car? Such a nuisance as nothing is available!

Apologies about bringing this subject up again! Following a factory reset, following Skoda advice, SatNav seemed to be behaving until I went on a longer journey this weekend. Same haywire behaviour. Lost its way and started to tell me to take directions in Preston when I was miles away! Tried Google maps and maps on carplay but same result! I noticed green light next to sos button was off? Have contacted Skoda again and am awaiting their reply. Thoughts welcome please.

Thanks all for your help. I have been in contact with Skoda who have suggested trying a factory reset before informing their technical department. Following the factory reset, I haven’t experienced any sat nav issues although my journeys have been local and I haven’t suffered any radio station jumps. Skoda have my infotainment system and phone system details if they are required but so far, so good.🤞
