Just a quick greeting from (today) a somewhat damp Berkshire, soon to relocate to a probably damp Somerset, which is okay, for I don't care if it rains (the end quote from the Grant Morrison "St Swithin's Day")
Not really a car person, me... They are utilities designed for transporting things, be they soft and wet on the inside or bulky and mainly hard on the outside (motorsickles, however)... Thus, with family the Renault Scenics were perfect, then, as my primary car, I bought a Peugeot 108 (so much for "they will stop asking me to move houses" ) , which served me and the lab well on long, short and inbetweenie trips, whilst my wife had something more substantial... Now I find myself subjected to different needs and, well, an Octavia Estate ticks pretty much every box so, recently, we went down to Somerset, originally planning to look after half a dozen cats for a fortnight whilst our friends drove around Scotland following the NC500 route) and `came back with` a house and a car, for which I'll be teased mercilessly. I rather like techie stuff so when I found the opportunity to buy a `Skoda Approved` SEL First Edition down in Bridgwater, I seized the moment. The car is a delight (apart from the legendary infotainment bugs which, thanks to this forum, I know is now `dealer fixable`)....
So, here I be.
Cheers
