Small aluminum tabs in trunk, attached to green and white cables/strings
ShaMana replied to ShaMana's topic in Skoda Karoq
I searched but found none. In any case, moisture sensors?!? Sure add odd ones. Still having them installed in multiple vehicles tells me that they are factory-installed and nothing to worry about. Should shove them better in the trim. -
Greetings good people, I recently came in to possession of a Karoq with an electric boot. Yesterday when opening that same boot, I noticed a small green cable/string with an aluminum square piece attached at the end, poking out of a small cutout in the plastic lip of the trunk. When looking inside it with a flashlight, I noticed identically looking but but white one. My current guess is that these maybe antennas for something, but unsure why they would be there and decided to ask. Don't really enjoy the thought these may be aftermarket tracking bits I am not aware of. Do you know what these are?

The point of ACC is not Autopilot. It's not intended to take over steering and control fully for you. It's meant to reduce driving efforts, but you are still driving. If you know how to use it, may easily cross 100+ miles without touching the break or gas pedals. This reduces strain and stress as you still drive, but the car manages a good chunk of the 100s of small adjustments each minute. If you are observant enough you can drive only by changing ACC settings, letting the car manage things. I wouldn't trust any vehicle to drive me in the day and age. They are unreliable and unsafe. I do trust for them to relieve some of the load though, and for 140k+ miles have never let me down once, so that's a pretty good record I'm my book.

ACC is the best thing to have, ever. I have it in my current car, and for the last 8 years have used it constantly without a smidge of trouble. Would have it in all cars in the future if money allows.

2023 Karoq has these features excluded and non purchasable through out most markets (Assists). The car supports it, but Skoda removed it some time ago for chip shortage reasons, or it just wasn't included in the car to begin with. Thing is, it is very likely you don't have it. As for the start stop, it has some requirements. Engine status, battery, stuff hidden from us. It could be normal depending on the conditions of the drive and car itself.
