  1. Ah !! I forgot to lubricate the locks ! That should sort the problem, cheers
  2. Car has had recent full service. Will try the more premium fuels thanks
  3. No, there is no smoke I use the car as a taxi , so is regularly full of people, luggage etc
  4. Thanks for the replies & sorry for not responding sooner. I think the garage used a basic " snap on " code reader which only showed a fault with the lambda sensor. The strange thing is ; it clears after less than a minute & runs normally thereafter. I had a similar problem with a previous skoda which was caused by a build up something on the injectors but this was easily cured with a dose of forte diesel injector cleaner. The same stuff , used twice has had no effect on this problem however.
  5. Do you think the problem lies with the glow plugs ?
  6. Hi folks. New to this forum so please be gentle, I have a 2018 1.6 tdi octavia which has until recently been very reliable, The car starts in the morning { albeit reluctantly} and feels like it is running on 3 ( or sometimes 2) cylinders until it gets some heat through it , after which it runs fine. My local independent garage diagnosed a fauly lamda sensor which was replaced but the problem still persists. Any ideas or advice most welcome
