  1. Annoying. Feel free to use my case as an example
  2. Managed to get it up on a trolley jack and undo the undertray in the end šŸ‘šŸ»
  3. Ok: rather foolishly, whilst topping up the oil I’ve knocked the filler cap down behind the radiator and it’s fallen onto the undertray šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø I’ll get a new cap tomorrow, but can’t see where the original one is. Would it be safe to leave it there and drive as normal, or is there any chance of it snagging on a belt etc? I haven’t got any ramps, so it would be a pain trying to get underneath and remove the undertray etc. Thanks!
  4. Those cracks are exactly the same as mine, and they were replaced under warranty šŸ‘šŸ»
  5. No, never contacted Skoda UK as the Dealer sorted it, I believe they spoke with Skoda UK and it was agreed between them.
  6. Sorry to hear about that. Surely if people have had them replaced under warranty, then Skoda UK have it on record?
  7. ***UPDATE*** Apologies for the delay, things have been progressing but I wanted to wait until their conclusion before posting. Also, I didn’t want to tempt fate! The good news is that the Dealership (DM Keith, Wakefield) have replaced BOTH headlights under warranty. This has taken some time (the car was taken in for initial assessment last September), but in the end it was well worth the wait. Hopefully this will help others with their claims, as it should be a matter of record with Skoda UK.
  8. Try a Panasonic battery, worked for me.
  9. Really….? šŸ¤”
  10. Turns out that the remote is indeed fussy about which battery it uses. Tried re-synchronising the key as per the guide above, no gain. The new battery was indeed a Duracell battery, swapped for a new Panasonic battery and it started working immediately.
  11. Thanks, I’ll give that a try šŸ‘šŸ»
  12. It’s actually the second battery I’ve tried: I found one in a drawer which I replaced the old one with, it didn’t work so assumed it was flat and bought a new one - still no joy.
  13. Has anyone else had this? Out of the blue, the key won’t unlock the car, either via keyless proximity or the buttons themselves. Thought it was a flat keyfob battery, but changed that this morning and it still won’t work. The red light on the fob doesn’t flash either, indicating that the car doesn’t recognise it. The car does start, but I have to place the key in the little tray behind the parking brake for it to work. I can’t lay my hands on the spare key at the moment, so having to lock/unlock via the app! Help would be greatly appreciated!
  14. A quite ridiculous ā€˜explanation’ for the problem. So the only damage caused was to the headlights, and not your bodywork?
  15. I need to chase them up, been busy with work/Christmas etc. I’ll try this week šŸ‘šŸ»
  16. So: spoke to the garage today. Long story short, it’s still being ā€˜looked into’ by Skoda UK. Interestingly though, they said that they had no record on their systems of anybody reporting a similar problem before. I pointed out that I had found a number of people via Online Forums with the same problem. SO: if anyone has made an official complaint/warranty claim attempt regarding cracks along the top of their headlight(s) (and not just condensation/water vapour inside the units) then please can they let me know? Any official reference numbers, dates of correspondence etc. would assist, you can PM details to me if not comfortable posting in public. Many thanks!
  17. Thanks for that. I’ll keep my eye on it, it fired up immediately this morning without any problems, a series of short journeys recently might not have helped. I bought the car two years ago (almost to the day), but it was a car that was ā€˜in stock’, so may have been sat around for several months etc. and the battery may be over two years old I suppose.
  18. The cold weather seems to be showing that the battery is on its way out (longer to crank, labouring to start, warning message if in car with engine off but electrics on after only a minute or so etc.) Bit annoying as the car is only two years old, but šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø Anyway, can this be changed by myself without any coding equipment, or do I need to get a garage to do it?
  19. Headlight salt…?
  20. Still waiting for an update from Skoda actually, I’ll chase them up - it’s been about six weeks now.
  21. Driver’s side headlight. The crack runs mostly along the ā€˜corrugated’ section. Passenger side.
  22. Booked in for examination in a few week’s time. Usual frosty reception when ā€˜Warranty Work’ was mentioned, along with a degree of scepticism. There’s a Ā£168 ā€˜Diagnostic Fee’ to pay if they deem it isn’t a warranty issue either.
  23. I’ll let the Dealership sort it I think.
