Lost Oil Filler Cap
Ok: rather foolishly, whilst topping up the oil Iāve knocked the filler cap down behind the radiator and itās fallen onto the undertray š¤¦š»āāļø Iāll get a new cap tomorrow, but canāt see where the original one is. Would it be safe to leave it there and drive as normal, or is there any chance of it snagging on a belt etc? I havenāt got any ramps, so it would be a pain trying to get underneath and remove the undertray etc. Thanks!

Cracked Headlight Casing
Those cracks are exactly the same as mine, and they were replaced under warranty šš»

Cracked Headlight Casing
No, never contacted Skoda UK as the Dealer sorted it, I believe they spoke with Skoda UK and it was agreed between them.

Cracked Headlight Casing
Sorry to hear about that. Surely if people have had them replaced under warranty, then Skoda UK have it on record?

Cracked Headlight Casing
***UPDATE*** Apologies for the delay, things have been progressing but I wanted to wait until their conclusion before posting. Also, I didnāt want to tempt fate! The good news is that the Dealership (DM Keith, Wakefield) have replaced BOTH headlights under warranty. This has taken some time (the car was taken in for initial assessment last September), but in the end it was well worth the wait. Hopefully this will help others with their claims, as it should be a matter of record with Skoda UK.

Car not recognising key
Turns out that the remote is indeed fussy about which battery it uses. Tried re-synchronising the key as per the guide above, no gain. The new battery was indeed a Duracell battery, swapped for a new Panasonic battery and it started working immediately.

Thanks, Iāll give that a try šš»

Car not recognising key
Itās actually the second battery Iāve tried: I found one in a drawer which I replaced the old one with, it didnāt work so assumed it was flat and bought a new one - still no joy.

Car not recognising key
Has anyone else had this? Out of the blue, the key wonāt unlock the car, either via keyless proximity or the buttons themselves. Thought it was a flat keyfob battery, but changed that this morning and it still wonāt work. The red light on the fob doesnāt flash either, indicating that the car doesnāt recognise it. The car does start, but I have to place the key in the little tray behind the parking brake for it to work. I canāt lay my hands on the spare key at the moment, so having to lock/unlock via the app! Help would be greatly appreciated!

Cracked Headlight Casing
A quite ridiculous āexplanationā for the problem. So the only damage caused was to the headlights, and not your bodywork?

Cracked Headlight Casing
So: spoke to the garage today. Long story short, itās still being ālooked intoā by Skoda UK. Interestingly though, they said that they had no record on their systems of anybody reporting a similar problem before. I pointed out that I had found a number of people via Online Forums with the same problem. SO: if anyone has made an official complaint/warranty claim attempt regarding cracks along the top of their headlight(s) (and not just condensation/water vapour inside the units) then please can they let me know? Any official reference numbers, dates of correspondence etc. would assist, you can PM details to me if not comfortable posting in public. Many thanks!

Changing Car Battery
Thanks for that. Iāll keep my eye on it, it fired up immediately this morning without any problems, a series of short journeys recently might not have helped. I bought the car two years ago (almost to the day), but it was a car that was āin stockā, so may have been sat around for several months etc. and the battery may be over two years old I suppose.

Changing Car Battery
The cold weather seems to be showing that the battery is on its way out (longer to crank, labouring to start, warning message if in car with engine off but electrics on after only a minute or so etc.) Bit annoying as the car is only two years old, but š¤·š»āāļø Anyway, can this be changed by myself without any coding equipment, or do I need to get a garage to do it?

Still waiting for an update from Skoda actually, Iāll chase them up - itās been about six weeks now.

Driverās side headlight. The crack runs mostly along the ācorrugatedā section. Passenger side.

Cracked Headlight Casing
Booked in for examination in a few weekās time. Usual frosty reception when āWarranty Workā was mentioned, along with a degree of scepticism. Thereās a Ā£168 āDiagnostic Feeā to pay if they deem it isnāt a warranty issue either.

Cracked Headlight Casing
Iāll let the Dealership sort it I think.
