  1. Hi, I am Bharath a masters student in Swinburne university and I recently bought a used Skoda superb 2011 with one head unit which was Columbus. The next day it started acting weird and it died. With some research and stuff I found out that it’s better to replace and I got one from a wrecker. It’s now asking for a code and I have requested for a dealer to help me with this. I had gone to one dealer previously and he said there might be component protection problems and it might not work. I am unsure where to go for guidance. If I input the code will the replaced unit from wrecker work as usual or would I need to take it to a dealer to get it component protection removed?. kindly help me on this because I am a student and trying to stay on budget. Any help or advice would be really appreciated. thanks and regards bharath
