Just a 1600 Super. Purbeck Grey with a hand painted matt black mock vinyl roof Dillon was a great cat - bequeathed to us by a colleague who emigrated to the USA. Huge but gentle - he was the kids' best mate when they were tiny. Even my F-I-L who was a dyed-in-the-wool dog person couldn't resist him when he suddenly arrived on his lap

After a break, the High Performance Course will be running another Young Drivers' Day on Saturday 23rd July 2022. This is open to those who are aged 26 years or less and hold a full driving licence, and who are not graduates of the High Performance Course. More details are available on the High Performance Course website - http://www.high-performance-course.com/ A few people from Briskoda have attended in the past and I believe without exception, enjoyed the day and took away new lessons and skills.

If you have any kind of hardness in your water it will stick in the tightest part of the system (the nozzles). Poke with a pin etc, then descale with something acid. If you don't have anything else, loo cleaner is surprisingly effective - I use it on my shower head etc. Much cheaper than bespoke "descaler". Don't use it on your coffee machine though! -
Fixed input vs Push/pull on a track?
ncarring replied to Gumby's topic in Racing and Advanced Driving Techniques
Using fixed input allows you to return the wheel to straight in one movement and you always know where straight ahead is. As Ken said, you would almost never run out of lock available in one arm movement on the track, if you make sure your wrists are flexible and sit in a good position that allows freedom of movement (not too close and not too far away). -

Well done Rainmaker, glad you got the result you wanted. -
Love this combo, location and a UK motor

I had the pleasure of driving that road (and some other good ones - Strathcarron etc.) in a rather nice Merc in the company of a well-known bearded gentleman the week before you posted that -

jaco2k - how exactly does one turn on or off the adaptive lighting? I've only had my car a week and have only had one night drive in that time. The variety of options etc. is rather bewildering (I must be getting old) and I actually don't know what options my car has - it's just a bog standard VRS TDi, and I'm discovering new things all the time. So I may not have this "adaptive lighting" anyway, but I'm curious nonetheless. -

The primary criteria is vision. The wide line is for vision, and safety (particularly on right-handers). Roadcraft says somewhere (certainly in the old blue book) that you can move towards the centre line as vision develops and makes this safe. This is my guide. Ditto if you need to modify your line on a left-hander for safety, you do so, toute suite. There's a tendency among those new to the System, to cut right-handers because they enter too fast and end up feeling uncomfortable trying to maintain the wide line. That should not be confused with a controlled early return towards the centre prompted by improved vision and opening the throttle.

Too many to count but this would be one of the top picks. If only it could be got to run right for more than 5 minutes at a time ...
