  1. Did you need any specific tools for this? I'm using my original barrel, just replacing the lock.
  2. I don't believe the actual lock is an issue. I can unlock the steering and lock it fine. The key turns just enough for that. My issue from what I can ascertain is their is a mechanism behind the key that makes the car think the lock is on, even when it isn't, which won't allow the key then to turn. Found a video of a fella replacing the same on a mk5 golf. My local dealer who have always been knowledgeable wreckon it's this part. I'm just wondering is there anyone with part numbers really and some insight, if they've tried it before 😂
  3. So long story short. Can't turn the key. I'm reading it's the steering lock despite not having any issues with the wheel locking. I'm contemplating buying the lock, ie the assembly behind the key barrel and attempting to replace it myself. Has anyone encountered the same? Is there specific tools required?
