  1. Hello, not sure if this has been mentioned before or is common knowledge. I assumed coasting (D) operates automatically only. I have since discovered that you can manually put it into D coasting by giving a quick gentle tap on the accelerator. Now I use it all the time.
  2. Called Dealer today and it's a long life schedule. They admitted that their technician hadn't realised and didn't reset the car accordingly. They offered to reset it for free so that's solved that mystery. Many thanks to you all for your time and advice, much appreciated .
  3. I'm assuming that it's synthetic oil but the service record doesn't state which has been used. Anyway, surely it's the mileage that matters not time with oil ? Maybe I'm missing something but why doesn't the warning work on mileage only ? I'm thinking another ploy to give main dealers income. I will call the dealer who did the last service and ask.
  4. Are you saying press the trip button and then turn on the ignition ? I did try this but with ignition on but that just brought up the clock setting.
  5. Hello, Indication states oil service in 27 days or 3700 miles. As it's only been 2000 miles since last oil change I'm assuming the indication has been triggered by time. As stated, it indicates 3700 so that will probably take me 3 years to achieve . I'm guessing this indication will keep appearing regardless . In the handbook it states that a reset must be done at dealers or other. Any advice please. Thank you
  6. My '19 1.5 dsg petrol, the symbol is on when coasting with just D showing, also with act it lights up. There is an eco screen in the infotainment screen which gives you a graph of your driving. There is also an option to have the 2 cylinder mode on the dash display. It's some entertainment to try and keep the eco light on but not touching the gas or brake pedal can send you up close to traffic. I'm sure it's all a gimmick that probably saves very little fuel.
  7. The cable you posted was single with 2 plugs. The other is 2 cables and 4 plugs. I'm not understanding the claim that there is no difference, unless I'm missing something. They both only state they are for a Kodiaq. Call me a girls blouse but I'm reluctant to mess with the canbus system if I'm not 100% sure I've the correct part. Many thanks for your replies and help

  9. Ha ha, yes, I did admit this is total lazyness on my part.
  10. Thanks for your reply. Have you fitted one of these ? Looking around there seems to be a few of these claiming to be for a Kodiaq but look very different. Unfortunately there is no specific info as to model and year.
  11. Well bless Youtube, there are a wiring harness and even easier, a obd device which will both remember the last switch position. Whether these are available in the UK and for your specific vehicle, especially year needs more Googling.
  12. I read about the method you used. I'd rather have the choice to still have the on/off option. In the old days it would be easy, just swap the wires on the back of the switch but now they are pre wired with a block connector.
  13. Hello, SS is like marmite, love it or hate it. I'm a hate it,mine's a DSG which I think are worse. Anyway.... I heard that it may be possible to reverse the switch operation so off is the default. If poss would this have to be with vcds ? This I admit is pure lazyness on my part, having to remember to switch it off every time is very tiring .
  14. Thanks for all your replies. The car was serviced correctly so I'm with the gases contamination idea. However, the engine has been deemed kaput and replacement quoted at 2k which is too border line for a car worth 5k at best. The issue I have with replacement engines is they're an unknown quality and open to a possible whole heap of grief. It is now in the chapel of scrap.
