Heater only blows cold air
Has the goal on the internal flaps disintegrated and started blowing out through the vents? That's what happened to mine and it is a case of having to replace the foam with metallic tape so the air is directed over the heater matrix. I didn't replace it as it is likely to be scrapped soon anyway.

Clutch Bleed T-piece Leaking
Not to worry, I found the part number, it is 1K0 798 741. Will pick one up from my local VW dealer parts desk (about £14).

Clutch Bleed T-piece Leaking
I have a problem with the clutch bleed T-piece; it is leaking hydraulic fluid. I have tried replacing it (this didn't work), I have also replaced the o-ring on the spigot that goes into it at the gearbox casing end, and the o-ring on the bleed screw, this has improved it but it hasn't stopped the leak completely. The only other thing I can think of that might sort it, is the "top hat" seal that sits on the end of the rigid pipe that pushes into the other end of the T-piece. I've had a look online but I'm not sure if the ones I've found are correct for my car (Octavia Mk1 PD TDI ASZ). Please can anyone let me know which seal I need to buy (if that is the solution)?

Passenger Side Front Door Won't Open
I did manage to get it open. The repeated hitting the door and pulling the handle didn't work, then I removed the door card and tried connecting a 12v battery directly to the wires that go to the actuator. At first I thought this would work, as it did make a whirring noise, but still didn't unlock and then the noise stopped, suggesting the motor was totally burned out. The way I got it open was to use a Dremel type tool to cut a hole in the side of the door lock (near the top) and then pushed the "plunger" up manually, using a screwdriver; turning the cog (visible through the bottom hole) didn't work, as it just kept spinning back against the resistance.

Heater only blows cold air
I'm fairly sure the software I have is genuine VAG, as I have had braking system fault codes reported on it in the past, but it is not currently showing any faults.

Passenger Side Front Door Won't Open
Please can anyone help? I have a mk1 Octavia Elegance 1.9 tdi, and the MOT runs out on 7th July. The main problem I have to sort out before the MOT expires is that the passenger front door will not unlock nor open.

Heater only blows cold air
Thanks for that detailed document - I have plugged in my ODBC and found no error codes in relation to the heater system. My theory I think is the correct one - i.e. that the foam covering on the flaps has disintegrated and is not directing the air through the heater matrix (as highlighted, below);

Clutch bleed valve seals leaking
This looks like the part that the leak seems to be coming from, but as the car is being sold for spares / repairs, due to other issues, I'd rather just replace the seals (if possible), rather than replacing the whole unit, as I want to spend as little as possible on getting minor issues sorted before putting it up for sale. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/364530648491?itmmeta=01J0PZ0GMZQV37DK1DV5Z1519Z&hash=item54dfb845ab:g:lZIAAOSwYqhlZuM-&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA0M%2Bv%2BIClYZ8nldmAPXgV8zaBp%2FeQZARpNopcCXB7sQYdDeTNwJOuZFlgw7MbtyvYYcxO2KaoxAU14nPBsMi9yemyxDhWhlvJ7BndBoTLj0xECJzgllJ9dNhq5AjZr3L8e%2BItSKvHyhosbGF3pmQ90UpGu2LMAUnKuJLVzyxUOM6rr52SrGNjiscxMLXJWOFq7%2ByO%2B9JzPmKnlstZEXqisy3TeR%2BRN3HTqD1SZIetVLBQk3paiZNhRyp6At3aUPAOjlUmCtbFJGysg9wXIO6gakA%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR86Kgt-FZA

Clutch bleed valve seals leaking
I have noticed the seals that sit either side of the bleed valve, on the hydraulic pipe that goes to the clutch (near the battery tray), are leaking. Does anyone know where I can buy replacement seals, or do you have to replace the whole T-piece, and if so is it only available from a Skoda dealer?

Heater only blows cold air
Thanks for all the advice, I have got VCDS (Ross-Tech I think) on my old laptop, so will plug that in and have a look. I think I can hear the flap motors when I press the different setttings buttons, so my suspicion, given all the bits of dry foam coming out of the vents, is that the air is going straight through the flaps (assuming they are metal flaps with holes in them, like on later models) rather than redirecting the air through the matrix.

Heater only blows cold air
Further to my originl post - I have remembered that bits of foam have been blowing out of the eye level air vents (presumably it is the foam that covers the mixture flaps) - would this account for the lack of heat, and if so, how easy is it to replace the foam / is there a better tape to use to cover the flaps. Also, if recovering the flaps will sort it, how big a job is it, i.e. can it be done without removing the whole dashboard, as I had to do that to replace the heater matrix in my old Polo and it was a nightmare of a job?

Heater only blows cold air
Hi All, FIrst post, so be gentle! My Mum's Skoda Octavia only blows cold air out of the in-car blowers; I have just flushed the entire coolant system, using coolant flush and then a garden hose until only clear water was coming out of the radiator, engine, oil cooler, and heater matrix pipes. The car is now getting to temperature properly (gauge reads 90C) and all hoses are gettting hot, including both heater hoses, but the blower inside the car still only blows cold, even when the heater setting is on High (and at every other setting). Is there some sort of flap or electronically controlled valve that could be the issue? Many thanks, John
