  1. Fits like a glove! A friend of mine had 2 sets of wheels for summer/winter tyres and did use one of his other set’s as a spare. For towing defo a no no with the space saver.
  2. Cutting plastic trim of a perfectly working vehicle to supposedly match tyre size on an axle just to get it to the nearest shop. Was meant for the previous comment however there was another post in the meantime. Cheers.
  3. Good advice if no spare tyre or foam spray only. But I’d not bother at all if oem spare size is 16”.
  4. My antifreeze is 5yo and with only 26k miles on it. After taking the silica gel out it would take years to deteriorate. I will rinse and switch to g12evo in the next oil change which would be in several hundred miles.
  5. Indeed, I’d’ve hated spilling some in the bay. But my point was no syringe was needed at all. The bottom hose is last to be disconnected. A quick thumb on the tank stops from spilling the liquid and a few drops on a tissue or rag below the hose, no big deal. I replaced with fresh G13/distilled water.
  6. I didn't use a syringe at all. A small towel/rag under the lower hose and a thumb to block the container's lower connection. Once I took it away from under the bonnet I drained in a half-litre water bottle. And that was exactly how much coolant/distilled water mixture I needed for topping up. And just in case after the procedure is finished and having driven the car for a while, I'd check the coolant level again at low temp.
  7. Congrats on the superb! I got a standard spare with steel rim and 205/55/16 tyre. Yes I did get confused by the size but I can check tomorrow if I’m wrong. Hope this helps. Cheers
  8. I’ve got fat fingers so pulling the silica out was a no no. I had to remove the reservoir indeed. All videos on YT are quite accurate and not a huge problem, so long as you have big enough pliers to squeeze the bottom hose bracket. If you can see the satchet floating in the reservoir you should have not trouble yanking it out. I put the tank upside down and pulled it with my middle finger and some thin long nose pliers. btw there is also an alternative that Audi use. What is a plastic cylinder filled with silica. Looks much more reliable than the lousy teabag and I know of people having had that replaced. Saves the hassle of flushing and bleeding the complex coolant system. Hope this helps. Cheers.
  9. Had the chance to remove the silica bag from the coolant. Those have been notoriously known for breaking and clogging the matrix heater. Soon I will be servicing the engine oil, gearbox, Haldex. So I thought why not flush the G13 down the drain and get a fresh refill of G12evo.
  10. Xenon could deteriorate over time and replacement might make it better. I’d try oem or upgrade to night breaker or Similar.
  11. Bone stock L&K with 41kkms on it.
  12. Changed my 5yo xenon bulbs with the same xenarc d3s. No particular complaint of the old ones just a mild purple hue when lit up during warm-up. Not sure if you can notice the difference. Left is new right is old. It does though make for a better visibility at night. At just 47euros a piece and 4y warranty I preferred them to the laser night breaker.
  13. Hello. Similar issue AA WORKs well, CarPlay won’t even start just gets error while attempting to connect via cable. It is the Amundsen with shown model. Tried different phones and cables. The latter all work on other cars eg ‘19 Passat. Thanks in advance.
  14. Here is a list of things I did last week (and probably the week before too): - Replaced the battery with a Bosch AGM 70Ah. Turned out the factory-fitted one just needed topping up with distilled water and a recharge... - New Valeo Silencio? windscreen wipers. - Winter rubber floor mats and a rubber boot liner. - Winter tyres 18" WIndforce Snowblazer UHP. - New maps and firmware for the Amundsen. - A bottle of Turtlewax leather care to give it some shine.
  15. Hello All, I have a 5Q0035864C MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0472T Is there an update to the firmware for this one please? I have issues connecting my iPhoneXR via CarPlay and I hope to be able to use that. Many thanks.
