  1. OMG I heard they literally clamp fuel lines when changing the fuel filter. The level of disrespect in this forum is too damn high.
  2. You should normally get the ignition ON (no brake) to access these settings.
  3. You may download on your device too - available in My Škoda essentials too. Page 135
  4. The damage to diesels from air into fuel system is more than self-explanatory, or so I thought… The warning though for fuel level is for keeping diesel temp below 45’c. Hence the fuel line radiator.
  5. I’d do a contactless foam and rinse every week - we do 2-3 commutes a week, and after every family trip too. We got some warm days now so I am already washing bugs from grill and bumper, while still driving my winter tyres! Corrected that the day after taking the pic.
  6. As pointed out, that could be a costly trial for a diesel engine. Not only running out and priming trouble, risk of air bubble damage. Also, low fuel level, despite presence of a return fuel cooler matrix, can cause condensation of water vapour from cold air in a nearly empty tank, or, reduce fuel viscosity and lead to incorrect combustion. The minimum quantity acts as a cooling buffer too. Yes, there can be one-offs but I would rarely let remaining range drop below 100km. I can plan a 1300km drive with a single top-up without getting down to the red line.
  7. I am sending my Pegasus Anthracites to get curb scratches repaired. Found cheap German Autec Zenits with same offset on a local ad. Not too bad - I am keeping them as a winter tyre set. No excuse for the dirty car though - have been to a couple of development plots that day.
  8. Mirror USB-C does not provide enough current for some models of dashcams (2A).. In order to overcome it, an adapter from C-type to A-type has to be fitted in this tiny spot, and then plug the dashcam cable into the A. Adapter small
  9. 70mai A500 is regarded as a good option by local club mates. I use my ancient Mijia and ran the cables above the a-pillar and inside the door seal -> under glove compartment and straight to the USB below the cigarette lighter. The latter is linked to the Amundsen and switches off when it should, eliminating chance of battery drain.
  10. I’ve disproven myself on this one. Long story short, I had 6000kms in the last 2 months through ice, snow, motorway, etc. on commute, errands, family trips with Windforce Chinese tyres. I can say they did not underperform in any situation so far, compared to any Goodyear, Michelin, Vredestein or Debica I have used in the last 2 decades. I am well aware that they would probably last 3 seasons at best but for £200 total, including fitting, I am not going to be worried about longevity if my wife hit a curb by accident.
  11. The L&K comes standard with 18” or 19”. The DCC makes sure no comfort is sacrificed with 18” I can assure you that. I would not sacrifice the looks if I were you.
  12. I don't have any notion of friction noise in the back with my winter or summer tyres on. They should hoist and inspect it.
  13. I'd bet on a bearing - I've been warned those could fail during warranty period. Is it the 4x4 cause I seem to have missed that.
  14. Skoda club members usually get their older cars sold to other members without even bothering publishing an ad. Everybody knows who topped up wiper fluid and when, what brand and at what price.
  15. I haven’t tried their winter tyres yet. But the summer ones are a great bang for the buck.
  16. @Rooted I can’t imagine gradually migrating to another tyre size. Maybe I’ve read this the wrong way.
  17. Do you have a link to the ad? Older diesels tend to have problems with differential pressure sensors of the DPF. I’d also steer away from remapped ones.
  18. Last year I bought for my other 2 cars 16" Riken tyres. Made in Serbia in a Michelin owned factory in Pirot. Drove from Bulgaria to Venice, Italy and back last April, other trips to Greece, Hungary and around the country - no issues at all. I’d probably replace my Superb’s 18" summer tyres this year too. They would probably grip well 2-3 years but at that price point a good alternative. Not sure what availability in the uk. https://www.gorbalstyrecentre.co.uk/tyres/catalogue/riken/ultra-high-perfm/2454019yulhiperx
  19. Yup, indeed - this company comes to mind too Green D+. https://www.express-gases.co.uk/product/green-d-hvo-fuel-box-alternative-fuel-20-litre/
  20. Last year it was between 15p and perhaps 30-40p above regular diesel but that was for corporate customers with own tank on premises. Maybe my numbers are outdated.
  21. There is a very sustainable future for diesel cars that is industry standard already with lorries today. HVO100 is renewable, requires zero mods, is approved by manufacturers and is 90% lower in emissions. But obviously this is not in line with authorities’ plan to electrify.
  22. I simply used the USB below the lighter socket. Its power is linked to the infotainment.
  23. Actually, my MiB 2.5 Amundsen works well with my wife’s Xiaomi and wired AA. My iPhone however fails to connect via CarPlay. Units does not support wireless AA/CarPlay. I only use it via BT for music and calls. All software and maps are latest versions available.
  24. FWIW, Gave it a couple of tries - not too bad but never got to use it without having to think, so not the most useful feature.
