  1. Well the time has come and I'm moving on from the Octavia. This has been my second Octavia, my previous one being a Mk3 SE L 1.5tsi EVO DSG estate which I had for 4 years. I was excited to collect my new Octavia in petrol blue after a 16 month wait. I took delivery in December 2023. I only specified the boot lid protector. I was hoping to add the Canton system but they had stopped supply at that point. Anyway, I have accumulated just over 8800 miles in that time. Most miles have been motorway and a-roads. It was a company car so I only charged it for every work journey. Pros: Big step up in interior design and quality over the Mk3 Much better, sharper looks Fantastic drivetrain, seamless between the EV and hybrid driving modes Overall space and practicality Cons: Not quite as nice to drive as my previous Mk3, mainly due to the weight, and the soft suspension. I could really feel that extra ballast of the battery, although most of the time I was driving at regular speeds so it ultimately didn't matter much. EV range. I never got any more than 25 miles Battery charge retention. If I stopped to say pop to into a shop and then returned within 5-10 minutes, I would lose 2-3 miles immediately. It was always poor in that regard. I think the worst I did on a full charge was about 18 miles. Slightly smaller boot space Seats not quite as comfy So, I've really liked my time with the iV. I would definitely consider another Octavia. I'm actually moving to an A3 plug-in hybrid with the same 13kWh battery. Looking forward to that Audi interior.
  2. My long term average over 1600 miles is just under 60mpg (not a VRs, just the iV estate). I only charge when doing work miles as I get billed for the first 30 miles at an electric rate. As an example, if I do say an 80 mile round trip, say 60% motorway and the rest A & B-roads, I usually get about 70-80mpg and that's if the battery is fully charged before I start. With no charge, I'd say high 40's.
  3. It usually displays 34/35 miles for me after a full charge. But I'm not pre-conditioning, so I immediately lose 2-3 miles within 0.5 mile. I've not driven it on EV mode only, but I'd say maybe 20 miles in this current weather.
  4. It all depends on the p/p mile. If charged at home on a standard rate then it might only be slightly cheaper overall. I'm on a standard tariff and it's about 12 per mile for the electric portion.
  5. The latest Autoexpress article seems to hint that the bigger battery from the new Superb wont be carried over in this new facelift Octavia at least. Running the car on hybrid mode, it appears to me that 60mpg+ is easily achievable.
  6. Yes, that was over the entire trip, 80mpg which used most of the battery. I think I maybe had 2 miles or so remaining. Seeing how much fuel I actually used is difficult as the fuel remaining increments every 5 miles.
  7. Long time lurker. Thought I would add my experience. Ordered my SE L iV estate in September 2022. Picked it up in December 13th 2023, so almost 14 months. I only had two options, petrol blue paint and the boot lip protective strip.
  8. First post for me, similar to yourself here. I've owned my SE L for almost a month now. Not driven entirely on electric range much, but on hybrid only, short journeys kill the indicated range. I've fared okay on longer journeys. My longest trip so far was 110 miles out to Ormskirk and back. Full charge indcated 34 miles, that was pretty much all gone when the trip was done and I averaged just under 80mpg. That was mostly A roads and motorway., but some town driving. I put it into hybrid mode and let the car decide how to optimise.
