  1. Hi. Yeah I can see that VW themselves don't even recommend it. Thank you 🙂
  2. So there's literally no point in ever getting this done? No small benefits or reasons for doing it? Thanks both for getting back.
  3. Hi. The (Skoda main) dealer has asked if we want the engine flushed at our service coming up. I've said yes. £45 plus VAT. Should we get this done? The car was very low mileage (7000) when we got it. Registered Nov 2019. 1.0 tsi manual with now 17000 on the clock. It had a major (same Skoda main dealer) service last year when we bought it. It's running very well other than a slight light clunk as you engage/lift off the clutch into 2nd gear (I did note that on another engine on one of these) and there's been no change over the 12 months we've had it. Thanks for your thoughts on engine flushes: yes or no?
  4. Hi. Would like to fit Focal 165 speakers to our 2019 SEL Fabia estate. The four in the front and two in the rear. At the same time I'd need the doors lining and the speakers waterproofing. Anyone happen to know a decent fitter in the Manchester area? Many thanks.
  5. Hi. There has been no change but as the noise is very similar to intermittent wiper clicks I heard in cars about 30 years ago I'm putting it down to the relay. Sure we had a very similar noise in an Austin Metro! But yes, a bit annoying but not the end of the world. The car came with a 12 month warranty from a Skoda garage so will book it in after 11 months (in April) and will update then.
  6. By the way, will check the battery from time to time with a voltmeter. Thanks for the heads up.
  7. Hi. Thanks both. I remember being in cars in the olden days (:-)) and being told about relay noises and this does sound like that. It happens when the factory fitted heated seats are off too. Have read about the need to watch battery health. How do you do that?! Replace the battery every four years or something perhaps? With regards it probably being the relay, is that something I can or need to fix? Thanks again.
  8. Hi. Suddenly noticed this after 6 months of ownership back in October. It started after we put the heated seats on I think? Suddenly noticed a clicking at the start and end of the wiper stroke. Almost like you'd get in an older car?😀 Any thoughts? It doesn't make the click when the wipers are on constant. But it now does it every time we use the intermittents and it's blinking annoying. Thanks!
