  1. The facelift is indeed a very different car.My first Mk4 was dreadful ( as per earlier posts ) but the facelift it was replaced with ( FOC ) is lovely car, a couple of niggles, new windscreen because a connector was crushed when the car was built so it didn't defrost well, and the infotainment screen glitches and jumps around occasionally, it's had an update but this didn't fix it. It's a minor thing compared to the first one which was a bag of nails. Facelift is much quieter and has a few more toys ( the Mk4 was I think a victim of Covid shortages and built accordingly ). Very happy with the facelift, the only thing I miss from the first Mk4 is the Petrol blue colour which wasn't available when I got the new one. Andy
  2. Sounds very like the issue I was having BadgerUK. Anyhow after complaining for nearly the whole of the time I had the car Skoda ( although they still deny there were any issues with it ) have ‘come to the party’, coughed up some money and I now have a facelift Mk4 which is like night and day compared to the other one. A lovely car in all respects. A couple of minor niggles that I’m sure will be dealt with promptly. I’m a very happy chappie ( hope I don’t regret that ! ). Andy.
  3. If I’m travelling along a dual carriageway for example and come up behind a slower car my car brakes automatically ( braking and regenerative braking I’m guessing but could be wrong ). As I get closer to the car in front the auto braking ends, I have to brake and the engine ( that has been shut down ) is restarted quite violently ( as if it were being bump started by the motion of the car ) but all of this is very harsh and not at all synchronised. I sometimes get left with ‘half a brake pedal’ too. Not easy to explain but very unpleasant. The demo car is all very civilised and smooth in similar situations.
  4. Totally unhappy with my late 2023 1.5 DSG SEL. Infotainment muting, freezing, SOS triggering, all the other 'known' faults but the main thing is the way it drives and the quality of gearchanges and the way the regenerative braking reacts to my braking, frankly it's dangerous. Sadly no fault codes have ever been stored. I've had the dealer demonstrator for 2 1/2 months now while they and Skoda argue about replacing it with another one. The Facelift I have at the moment is a different kettle of fish altogether, smooth quiet and much nicer to drive ( it has its rattles and creaks though so not entirely faultless ).This is my 6th Skoda, I have loved all of them and they have been faultless, this has been a massive disappointment for me. It's a great looking car but I may have to look at an uglier reliable, safe car next time . Andy
  5. Ah, thanks for that Jorgeminator that’s good to hear and puts my mind at rest somewhat. Thanks all for your interest, I’m sure the niggles will get sorted, it is, as I say a lovely car. Andy
  6. Regarding the software version, I was rather surprised a brand new car didn’t have 1941 installed, I assume 1940 is an ‘old’ version and not just a version of 1941. I have asked this of the supplying dealer but waiting for a response.
  7. Rattles from the drivers door and creaks and knocks from the rear seat area. Also got the strange noise that seems to be steering column related that one or two have mentioned. I will get the dealer to look ( listen ) to them of course. It’s a shame they’re present, it’s a cracking car. This is my 6th Skoda, never had any issues, so just a bit miffed at things like this so early on.
  8. Hi all, long time lurker just joined. having convinced myself most of the issues with the mark 4 had been resolved I ordered a 1.5 e tech SEL DSG mid last year. Original delivery was going to be mid this year but the car was delivered at the beginning of December. Stunning looking car ( petrol blue ) but three days in complete crash of the infotainment. I was gutted. Smaller crash three days later but a couple of OTA updates and it hasn’t crashed again. I have all the noises and creaks and small annoying software glitches that seem to be associated with the mark 4 sadly. But, I have software version 1940 installed not 1941. I assumed it would be 1941 so slightly concerned as it’s a new build. Awaiting response from the selling dealer. Anyone else got 1940 installed ?
