Slight noise when accelerating and turning left
Good afternoon all, First, thanks to Lythamjohn. He was absolutely right about the engine/gearbox mount under the battery tray. Had mine replaced today at an independent VW Skoda dealer and the noise seems to have either gone or is so quiet that it doesn't bug me any longer. My car is a Diesel auto Kodiak front wheel drive 5 seater. Registered June 2023. It had done 3000 miles when purchased and now has just over 6000 on the clock. The original mount was part 5QA199555AK, the replacement part is as Lyhtamjohn said 5QA199555C. Both parts fit but the old one is different in a couple of ways. The most important difference is that the rubber pad, or one of the pads if there are two extends some distance out from the main body of the mount so that I think it rugs against the chassis or body of the car. The replacement does not extend so far. The one we took out had a very shiny surface which suggest it was rubbing against the metalwork. The part is about £100 including VAT and the labour should be 45 minutes to an hour. I will go after Skoda despite the relatively low cost of the job. They must know there is a problem with the original parts otherwise why list a replacement that is so different. Their failure to let dealers know of the problem has caused me endless hours of sitting around in dealerships and travelling miles only to be told, no problem, not dangerous, don't know what it is, its a characteristic of the car or its road noise! Finally my frustration at the attitude of the last dealership in Harlow caused me to be assertive in my request that they at least refer the matter to Skoda and demonstrate the characteristic noise of the car on the other models they said they ,had led me to be black listed from the dealership for asking the receptionist if I might discuss the matter with one of the engineers who had unsuccessfully diagnosed my problem after 6 days of work! I was told that my assumption that it was the engineer and not herself who had done the work was sexist, just because she was a woman!

Slight noise when accelerating and turning left
The independent was clear that he hasn't heard the noise before and it seemed gearbox related. Customer services suggested that the problem with more cars was being investigated but I was not sure that Skoda HQ are doing that, rather it would be taken forward by the local dealer but that sounds crap to me as the locals have not given any indication that they would follow up on anything that might be outside of their normal day to day stuff. Anyone have a contact point further up the chain in Skoda HQ?

Slight noise when accelerating and turning left
So local Marshalls Skoda in Harlow had the car for 6 days. As with the other dealerships they heard the noise. Their final report is that they carried out all inspections underside and found nothing. They then said that they had heard similar noises on other models and that it was a characteristic of the car. I asked that they demonstrate that to me on an other car but of course they did npt have one there. I did try to refer them to our web comments but they dismissed those as internet blurb which they never took notice of. The whole experience was a great disappointment as first contact they were really interested and seemed capable. How foolish can one be? The whole experience was made worse by the person at the service desk who has the oddest approach to customer care that I have experienced in any garage in my 50 years of motoring. Next step was my local independent VAG engineer. He put on his headphones to listen for the noise which he heard but all the time the car was in motion except it was much louder on the left turn. He is not sure that i is the mount. He was cl I spoke with Skoda customer srevices and a nice lady went through the motions. I told the tale, she rang the dealership and then repeated what the dealership told her. I

Slight noise when accelerating and turning left
Thank you for your helpful posts. I will put all this to one of the Skoda dealers to see what they might br happy to do. I had all this crap with my ;ast car a VW Touran with Pan roof. It always leaked and to be fair after much argument VW did replace the roof but it still leaked so I chopped the Toran in for the Kodiak. It may be annoyingly noisy but at least I can stay dry!

Slight noise when accelerating and turning left
Thanks Rudge. Let me know the outcome. I will take mine to an independent asap. My Kodiak is driving really well but the noise is aggravating and also if i had noticed when I test drove I would have been concerned as it sounds like an engine Knocking although only when turning left and accelerating out of the turn. For others who are interested, Skoda Harlow said this is normal, Skoda Norwich heard the noise and checked the car over finding nothing wrong. Skoda Letchworth stripped and cleaned the left side drive. So they all heard the noise but cannot resolve the problem.

Slight noise when accelerating and turning left
I too have this problem with my June 2023 Kodiak 2,0 diesel fwd. Been to 3 dealerships, First said its common as the left drive shaft is shorter than the one on the right. Second heard the noise but had no idea what it is. Checked the engine mounts and OK . Also could not find this as an issue on internet search,. Third stripped left hand drive joints and greased. Anyone actually solved the noise issue long term? Also checked brake discs not rubbing. No difference.
