Routing rear dashcam cable V2
Would you just try to tuck under carpets etc, rather than trying to lift the cills?

Thanks for the info. I will go back to the local garage and ask if they can do that. Cheers

Routing rear dashcam cable V2
Hi, The sills I assumed they could remove and hide cable are the ones that run along the doors (front to back) which cover the ends of the carpet. These are the one the garage are saying can't be removed - the mainline dealers did not say yes/no to this but said they would drop the headlining. Yes I'm not going to be paying £280 to the dealers for this work - I could even by another camera for than and have it standalone from the front camera. Cheers

Routing rear dashcam cable V2
I took this into the local franchise/dealership last week. They said that it would have to be the headlining and it would take 2 hours - £280 😭 Still not yet managed to find out how to remove the sills. Have to wonder why there's no a manufacturer who makes a wireless pair (front n rear), then the rear cam could just be wired into the power point in the boot.

Phone mount
Ok so this one fits nicely to the outer vents, but the ones in the middle must be a bit different. There's no enough clearance between the horizontal fins on the outside and the inner vertical fins. Has anyone bought a similar mount that fits on the two middle vents? Thanks £138.62 😭

Phone mount
Thanks @Yogi-Bear and @skomaz Might give the vent option a go then. Had a MagSafe holder that clipped nicely in the CD player on my old car, but modern cars generally don't have CD players it seems - fair enough as I haven't played a CD in year 😁

Phone mount
Hi all, Does anyone have a phone mount they can recomend? Not looking to stick anything on the dashboard or shelf. My phone is 250 grams so anything fixed to the vents is probably going to put too much strain on them. Thanks 😁

Yes fair point about sills v roof. It's going in to the Skoda dealership next week so I might see if the mechanics know. Cheers

Routing rear dashcam cable V2
Hi, I recently had a dashcam fitted to my 2024 Kodiaq. The kit was front and read and the garage did the front without issues but did not tackle the back as they could not see how to route the cable. They said they could not see any way of getting the sills off as they all seemed in one piece. I said I would seek advice on here and go back to them 🤞 Has anyone on here routed a cable from the front to the rear and were there any issues/tips I can pass on? Thanks

That rings a bell, I'm sure I delivered papers to that in my yoof 😁 Move to New Earswick then Linton-on-Ouse before leaving. Cheers

Routing rear dashcam cable
Hi @silver1011 The early 20s salesman was good but he did waffle a bit on things he really didn't know for sure - salesman eh 😁 I see you're from York, which part can I ask? From there myself (Haxby) but left in my late 20s - long time ago. Fabulous city.

Thanks for the info @Baxlin. I'm going to tell the fitter to run along the floor and not go near the roof.

Routing rear dashcam cable
Thanks everyone for your responses. 👍 I went ahead and ordered the dashcam as all the reviews are good. Getting a local car electrics company to fit it for me and will pass on that info about staying low and using sills and carpet. A side question 🙂 The salesman told me the SD card was in the lower glove box but I can't see it or any mention of it in the manual. Was he giving me duff info? Thanks

Routing rear dashcam cable
Hi all, I'm going to get a new dashcam with a rear camera and wondered if anyone had experienced any issues with routing the cable from the rear view mirror to the tailgate window? This is the dashcam if anyone has used and has comments? Thanks https://viofo.com/dash-cam/291-viofo-a139-pro-2ch-first-4k-hdr-front-and-rear-dashcam-with-the-newest-sony-starvis-2-imx678-sensor.html

Map - always on?
Thanks @Yogi-Bear and @Stratton, can't believe I did not spot that 😁

Map - always on?
Hi, Is it possible to just have the (local) map up and running without a destination being set? My previous car (2012 VW Phaeton) which had a a very similar infotainment system had the option just to leave the map on. Is it not possible with the Amundsen? Thanks

Using Android Auto
Hi, That's annoying that the Samsung S23 phones are an issue for AA. It's not like they are cheap phones 🤔 I'm going to ring the dealer later and moan at them as it really became apparent on Sat that I basically cannot have my S23 plugged into the car without the info screen going into meltdown. Thanks

Using Android Auto
Hello Do you know how to see the currently installed version of the infotainment system? Could do with knowing this before ringing and and booking in for an update. Thanks

Using Android Auto
Hello I drove about 20 miles the other day with the cable S23 connected via UsbC - no issues. On the way back I had to pull into a layby and unplug the the phone as it was causing the infotainment screen to go thru some sort of reset loop (blank screen, beep, message saying connecting). Sort of makes it difficult to just plug the phone in and charge it. I'm sure my old Google pixel used to allow the usb port to be just for charging (non-data) but I can't see it in the options, might be in the developer options if I switch them back on. Thanks

Using Android Auto
Hi all, Picked up my new Kodiaq on the 1st March and absolutely love it. 😁 The dealership (White Dove - Cardiff) were great but all the staff seemed to be iOS users so not that knowledgeable about Android phones. I was wondering the best way to use Android Auto (AA) with the 8" (Amundsen?) infotainment or how most people use it? Do you use a cable or Bluetooth via Smart Link? If I have Bluetooth connected then plug in my phone via USB I get a error every few seconds about the USB type being incorrect. My phone is a Samsung S23 Ultra running the latest version of Android. Apart from Waze and possibly Spotify and I can't see any other compelling reason to use AA Be good to hear your thoughts and experiences. Many thanks Dave This is not really specific to Kodiaq forums but I could not see a general forum. 🙄

Android auto
Hi all, I just ordered a new Skoda Kodiaq SEL which is on it's way from Dover to the dealership in Cardiff. 🥳 The salesman seems unsure if Android auto can work wirelessly or needs a USB-C cable. It does not really matter that much to me but I thought to ask as I will need to buy a short USB-C cable if it's the latter. Can anyone advise please? Thanks
