  1. I’m having the same problem, Apple Maps works fine but as soon as I try and use what’s app it crashes the phone out of the system, audiobooks, podcasts often then freeze not allowing it to play said audio. It will then come back with no issues until I try and use on the apps or ask Siri to do so instead of touch control.
  2. Ok, so here is a wee update, Skoda Assist came out and immediately knew how to overcome dead car. Namely they attached an external battery to charge my now dead battery, we were immediately able to charge EV side of car. AA mechanic found 12v battery at 4 volts and believes there is a parasitic power drain. Took car to a different dealership than before to have car looked at. Many faults found to be going on with the car via onboard computer checks but none found to be at this time at least causing said failed EV charge cable locking and charging or subsequent power failure. The new Skoda dealership though did state as far as they can tell form the onboard computer files that the car had NEVER been tested before making it likely that the previous dealership had not done anything of note to diagnose the now ongoing problem or even ascertain what had gone wrong!!!! The new dealership also looked at my 2 previous Skoda Assist call outs and found that my battery on the last occasion was at 4.3 volts and that a parasitic drain of about 4 volts was found. so long and short my car is working again for now……I will have car back tomorrow and wait to its next episode for the same fault. My car is leased from Skoda (first time I’ve leased) any advice and experience with handing the car back for not being for for purpose would be helpful.
  3. I waited two years for the delivery of my hybrid Skoda Octavia PHEV and finally received ownership in October 2023. Since then my car has now failed to charge the EV portion of the vehicle twice (so far). It appears that the locking pin will not engage for the EV charging cable resulting in the car not charging as the cable has not been secured. I have used the at home tethered charger (pod point), 3 pin charging cable or at numerous public charging stations to no avail. Then shortly thereafter about 48-72 hrs later, even with the car is being driven regularly via the petrol motor, the cars 12v battery then also dies making my car a garden ornament. When this complete power failure happens, the car alarm will sound, the car will allow me to open the doors but will then not lock again. My first visit to a Skoda dealer resulted in about 14 days of wasted time, being told everything is fine and they had never heard of this before, but it’s all working fine now so have a nice day, oh and they also scraped my car. A google search however shows this fault to be not unheard of. If anyone has indeed suffered this ongoing problem I would be grateful to learn how the matter was finally resolved and how many times they were told everything is fine and dandy by the dealer until someone finally listened and rectified the fault. many guidance/experience is appreciated even if it’s to know I’m not alone.
