Hi, In sorting my cruise control fault, I moved my clockspring, not knowing it would cause a fault, then SNAP! I opened up the clock spring, located the broken parts and re-soldered them. However, there are 8 copper wires on the loom itself and only 7 parts to connect on to the pins. I connected 7 of them initially and my horn began working again and the steering wheel controls too, however the airbag light was on and cruise control was disabled. I took it apart again, cleaned up my soldering and now the cruise control is back, but the steering wheel controls have gone! I have no idea where I am going wrong and whether the spare piece of wire is to be joined onto another connector? Many thanks and well done if you have made sense of my post 🤣

Rear brake caliper wont rewind.

Hi Rich, that's ideal mate thanks for the advice, should it happen to me again! Hopefully the caliper should arrive tomorrow -
Rear brake caliper wont rewind.
mk3Octy replied to mk3Octy's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Thanks for all of the replies. Unfortunately, it looks like I need a new caliper. I pumped the brakes slightly, which caused them to move. It was easy to rewind them to the point I was at previously, but it is stuck completely there 😔 I appreciate everyone's input though, many thanks! -
Good evening, I have been replacing my rear discs and pads today, however the drivers side caliper won't rewind. I have a rewind tool (Laser I believe), which worked on the passenger side, but not the other. Any ideas where I am going wrong at all? Many thanks in advance.

2017 Octavia Standard Cruise Control fault
mk3Octy replied to mk3Octy's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Thanks to all who replied. By way if an update, I have fixed the fault! I decided the pop the steering wheel off and take a look, which revealed a broken wire! I soldered it back together and voilà, I now have cruise control!- 9 replies

2017 Octavia Standard Cruise Control fault
mk3Octy replied to mk3Octy's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Sorry if I am missing the obvious, but I cannot see a solution there? Mine isn't intermittent also, it's a continuous fault. Thanks- 9 replies

Fan comes on every time I stop the car
mk3Octy replied to mk3Octy's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Hi all, Thank you very much for the replies. I'll be sure to carry out the above and will also add some DPF additive to the diesel. Thanks again. -
Hi, My fan comes on very loudly every time I stop the car and turn it off. It is a 2017 Octavia 1.6 TDI with 89k miles. Is this normal?

2017 Octavia Standard Cruise Control fault

Apologies, but the picture I had tried to add has not appeared. It is the cruise control symbol, but in orange with an exclamation mark. Thanks.- 9 replies

Hi there, New forum member here and I have a query, if anyone could kindly help me. I have the standard cruise control on my 2017 Skoda Octavia 1.6 TDI and I am met by the following error message on my screen. My cruise control is on the indicator stalk and as far as I have read, this is the standard cruise control and not the adaptive version? I have split the stalk and cannot see anything obvious. Many thanks in advance!
