  1. So, where to start with this one. Car went into bodyshop for some insurance repairs and despite their insistence otherwise, they've managed to put petrol into my diesel engined Superb. Went to pick it up on Friday evening to find it running like the proverbial bag of spanners, spouting foul smelling smoke etc. Called the AA out on Saturday morning who instantly diagnosed mis-fuelling simply by smelling the filler cap! Have spoken to the Insurance co and to be fair they're being very understanding. Less so the bodyshop. According to them, they've had the "fuel doctor" out who's drained the engine and jobs a good'un - come and get yr car. Am I being a bit precious in stating to the bodyshop I want more than a simple "fuel doctor" to look at the motor - from speaking to the AA mechanic and simple google use, there is a good chance of physical damage to the engine which needs fully checking by a professional. I should state that I ran the car for about 3 or 4 mins max before turning off to avoid any further damage.
  2. I'm pretty sure that I did - although now you've said that I'm thinking I need to check...thanks for that 🤣
  3. All the time, worse on braking...
  4. Have completed the full change of discs & pads and followed the VCDS instructions to the letter however I am now getting a terrible grinding sound on one of the rear wheels - any ideas? I've run through the process above - refitted the pads and disc etc - all with the exact same result...getting a little frustrated now as to what is happening!
  5. New caliper solved the issue - easier all round!
  6. Afternoon all Owner of a 2016 Superb 2.0 SE. Love the car to bits - would post a pic, but she's utterly filthy at the moment, inside and out. Need a good day to get her back up to standard!!!!
  7. Does anyone have issues with their microphone not picking up their voice very well? Every time I make a hands-free call from the car - either on Android Auto or simple bluetooth, the recipient of the call states that they can't hear me very well, that I sound really distant even though I can hear them perfectly well. If I'm using Android Auto to respond to a text - eg via google voice controls, it works intermittently. It will ask me "do you want to respond" and sometimes when I say "yes" it works, but more often than not it doesn't recognise my response. Is this a fault anyone else has come across - and if so, is there an easy fix (as if!!!!) Many thanks!
